  1. Get this 3 at the back to feck. That’s as bad as we’ve been for a long, long time.
  2. Phillips was indeed shite but I'm not buying this Forrest garbage. He'd have been equally shite as he has been in every single one of his caps to date. Also thought Fletcher had a decent game tonight but he absolutely has to score that one late on. That might have given us a shout, as it was we got the equaliser too late to really press for a winner.
  3. Fraser instead of Forrest. Rest as you were.
  4. --------------Gordon------------- Tierney--Martin---Mulgrew-Robertson ------------Brown------Bannan-------- Anya--------Armstrong----------Fraser ----------------Griffiths--------------- We shouldn't need two defensive sitters so I think this game could suit Bannan beside Brown, particularly if we have decent movement from the 4 in front of him.
  5. The problem we had for both goals were Gordon's mistakes were only the last in a line of 2/3/4. First goal Brown has to do better with that tackle, then 2 or 3 others sort of close the ball without actually getting close enough and I have a bit of sympathy with Gordon for that one as I don't think he could see it and didn't have much time to react. The second Armstrong made the wrong decision and having done so then made a mess of a fairly simple pass. Fraser then didn't get close enough to block the cross, Mulgrew got caught ball watching and lost Kane and finally Gordon didn't come for the cross. So frustrating!
  6. If you're going to start criticising folk you might want to make sure you know the rules. Mulgrew I think it was put it back to him with his knee/thigh. A keeper can only not pick it up if it's played below the knee.
  7. I think everyone is going to extremes either way here. I thought Brown was ok, not poor and not excellent. He generally did what was expected of him but was lucky not to have been sent off. He also nearly cost us a goal with a woeful pass from the edge of our own box that led to a chance that Lallana I think should have done better with. In general terms I think the thing that costs us more than anything is a perpetual lack of options for the poor sod on the ball.
  8. Jim Spence retweeted something about Liverpool apparently looking at Robertson. Might not be a bad move for him.
  9. I don't think anyone's really claiming he's the finished article but he is a promising young player who has had the courage to learn a different footballing style by going abroad which hopefully bodes well for the future. I think the frustration just now is the inconsistency when he's binned and not even on the bench after a poor game and others such as Forrest are not only in the squad but starting line up despite being rotten time after time.
  10. Forrest has been rank in every single one of his caps to date. In the last 2 games before this one he's missed sitters at a crucial part of the game. Last night Robertson picked him out in the box and his shot almost hit the corner flag. And yet he gets chance after chance.
  11. Robertson was my man of the match but thought Tierney was decent too, as was Armstrong for large parts. Forrest is a total waste of a jersey and whilst Griffiths' movement was ok you just can't miss chances like that one. We must be the easiest team in the world to defend against as our lack of movement means the poor sod on the ball has no options.
  12. I really rate Robertson but it's a bit much to ask him to play left AND right back at the same time! Sticking with the 4-2-3-1 I'd like to see: -------------------------Gordon--------------------------- Anya----------Martin-----------Berra---------Robertson -------------------Fletcher------Cairney------------------ Burke---------------Armstrong---------------Fraser ------------------------Rhodes-----------------------

    Canada Gemme

Griffiths did absolutely hee haw, behave yourself. Cairney & Robertson were the only 2 to come away from that with any credit. Fletcher had a couple of decent passes but made more mistakes than is acceptable. If Strachan is determined to stick with this pretence that Chris Martin is a footballer then I give up.
  14. Spot on. There is absolutely no excuse for a full time professional footballer being unable to use both feet.
  15. Rhodes up front with Fraser, Snodgrass & Burke creating chances for him.
  16. Robertson's assist was an absolute peach of a cross. And for whoever mentioned him earlier, McRorie was on loan at Ayr last season, not this.

    Grifiths

I thought he was ok but not passing that chance to Snodgrass is pretty much unforgivable. At Celtic he might get another 3 or 4 similar chances in the course of a game so it wouldn't matter as much but with Scotland we simply have to take advantage of those situations. And on a similar note, that was probably Forrest's best game but he was still pretty hopeless. That's twice in the last couple of games he's missed an absolute sitter at a crucial part of the game and he's failed to hit the target both times. Just not good enough.

    Oli Burke

No brainer for me, Burke & Anya wide to give us pace on the counter.

    Starting 11

Ritchie is pish and ludicrously slow. Given our best chance is likely to be on the counter attack I think we need Burke & Anya wide to give us a wee bit of pace. Snodgrass in the no 10 role and maybe Griffiths to run in behind or Fletcher to hold the ball up. Anyone but Martin.
  20. Sadly Snodgrass is having a mare, and Ritchie's just mince so we've got nothing going forward. Marshall has to do better at their goal but where was Tierney when the boy was getting a free header at the back post?
  21. I thought Fletcher was fine on Saturday. Always available to take the ball and looking for options. The problem he and Bannan had was a complete lack of movement in front of them.
  22. Ritchie's too slow for a counter attacking style of play. Anya would have been a far better option. Can't understand Burke not even being on the bench, strange one. Fair enough if Robertson is injured but I think it's a bit of a myth that Tierney's better defensively. Robertson plays against far better players week in week out and has a fair bit of defending to do. Out with Europe Tierney's playing for a side that has very little defending to do. Fingers crossed though, a win tonight would be huge.
  23. Marshall. Paterson. Martin. Hanley. Robertson . McArthur. Bannan. Burke. Snodgrass. Anya. Fletcher.
  24. No movement, no touch, no pace and absolutely no threat. Just what you want in a lone striker!
