I think the Scots athletes have done pretty well on the whole. As well as Doyle, Sharp, McColgan, Butchart all through to finals and with pbs or seasons best. O'Hare ran well in his first heat but not sure what happened in the semi final, he was running really well and seemed to have got his tactics spot on but it just didn't work out. An old coach of mine, Jack Dormer, had over 500 and once told me he fought at 3 different weights in the same night. He would have had his scheduled bout, had a couple of beers after it then got the call that he was needed again as someone was a no show. Even in his 60's he could hit like a mule. Poor Jack got a bit punchy though. http://www.heraldscotland.com/opinion/13068751.Jack_Dormer/ That's just a crazy amount of bouts. Don't make them like that anymore! Toepoke
The media overkill has been annoying, especially when, for example, the top sports story on GMS on Radio Scotland is a woman from Manchester getting bronze in the hammer throw. That said a lot of the sport has been amazing viewing. Gotta love an Eddie Butler montage too... http://www.snappytv.com/tc/2646903/1387061

You can see why from that perspective so many Scottish Team GB members are opposed to competing separately. That womens' 4x400 team would be a dentists dream btw...
