Bristolhibby
"Playing in the hole" Or in the pocket. Clear NFL ripoff that makes no sense in a football context. J
Bristolhibby
"Tanner ball player", such a dated phrase, but my Dad uses it so I can accept it. Players getting interviewed "as I said/was saying" before making a point that he never mentioned anything about before. NO YOU WERENT SAYING, it was the first bastardin question you plank! irnbruman
Quite a few come up each year when the English FA cup reaches the first main round "There's ...50 million places between these 2 teams in the pyramid" But the one that really annoys me - whenever a player from the higher ranked team misses a sitter - nothing ...if a player from the lower ranked team misses.."There you see the difference in quality" There were plenty of mentions of the "second ball" yesterday - wtf is it ? thistle do nicely
Yep. I think I first heard used in basketball but crept into football in recent years. "to be fair" fantasy football's been using the term assist since the nineties. I forkin hate the term "to be fair" and its always used 10 times in about 3 minutes by some footballer trying to sound articulate
Parklife
I'm pretty sure the term "assist" only appeared in the last ten years too It's all about the "pre-assist" nowadays. Get with the times.
