  1. Just to clarify, Griffiths was definitely considered a dud at Wolves. Thanks.
  2. Out of all the people in this board, I'd expect you to be the one to buy most a theory of resurrection.
  3. For me, the dickhead element in almost every club's away support has risen slightly over recent years, I mostly put that down to a rise in small time Ultra groups and Casual Culture coming back into a fashion of sorts. Celtic have received quite a lot of sanctions from UEFA in recent years for Banners and the like, I put that down to the club tolerating the Green Brigade and even faciltating a section for them under the guise of safe standing. Rangers simply haven't stayed in Europe long enough to make any reasonable comparison.
  4. Anything negative about Rangers = Anti Rangers Anything negative about Celtic = Anti Celtic No rational discussion, it's a bit like speaking to a Glasgow taxi driver when they ask what team you support, the. You say someone like Montrose and the whole taxi ride is a chat about "aye but come on pal, which one do you really support."
  5. For me, Celtic should have more friendlies in England, their carefully choreographed public image under Lawwell is seen straight through when you come face to face with them. This greatest fans in the world type chat is very far from the truth and Celtic themselves can be blamed for giving a group like the Green Brigade their own patch in the stadium.
  6. He looks like a PE teacher who's well out of his depth
  7. The Celtic fans weren't framed in any way, they came looking for trouble, the locals took exception once they lobbed a bottle at a woman bystander and it got out of hand.
  8. I got a text saying they threw a firework in the shop, the video I saw showed them chucking a bottle at a lass standing outside the shop. The shop is in Hendon which isn't really close to the stadium or on the way which would lead me to think they were looking for bother, the fact the guy got a skelp seems fair enough. Theres a certain irony of the photo of the guy sparked our receiving medical attention whilst lying on a Union Jack pillow.
  9. As Wanderer said, the Colliery Tavern opposite the stadium is decent, it can be busy on match days but they serve beer in tents etc in the beer garden bit at the side. The Dun Cow is located just over the Wearmouth Bridge and is a decent option as it's had a recent refit. Chaplains and Isis are nice pubs too. Sunderland deaf club and The Victory are decent and all on the walk from the centre to the stadium over Wearmouth Bridge. Theres a row of pubs just next to Sunderland Minster and they all do happy hour type things on match days so popular pints are as cheap as £1.50 a pint in some of those places. Id avoid the Halfway House at the top of hill next to the stadium as it's pretty rough. I'd also avoid The Wheatsheaf as it bit of a homers pub and wouldn't guarantee a warm welcome.
  10. Summer football has to happen, went to Alloa on Tuesday night and it was great standing in 20 degrees watching an entertaining game.
  11. If you don't see the IRA link in the Green Brigade's banners then to quote Nigel Pearson, "you're an ostrich."
  12. Presumably you have to be in Europe to be on the receiving end of UEFA's rule book
  13. I'm well aware that's a parody also. For the record I'm not upset, I have never stated so. However I do find it sad as in 2017 we have knuckle draggers that think this has any place at football. Celtic have made a rod for their own back accepting this fairly regurly when it could easily be stopped but they just don't have the appetite. Maybe the saddest thing of all is people on here making excuses for it all. I am well aware Rangers have an equivalent knuckle dragging element in their support too, not too sure what that has to do with Celtic's banners though. Grown men who fly flags supporting the IRA in 2017 man, how pathetic is that.
  14. It's a parody of a "Sniper at work" sign. I'm sure you're well aware of that. Embarrassing that fans even associate themselves with all that IRA loving shite but not surprising.
  15. Celtic deserve everything they get, they pandered to their arsehole element in their fan base and have been let down many times by them. It is interesting that under Lawell, Celtic have had such a carefully nurtured public image, so I can only assume they see the pro IRA stuff as lucrative or something.
  16. They are indeed, which I'll miss being in London, Livingston tomorrow too. I'd hope a decent crowd on Saturday divine decent train links and being on a Saturday also might help.

  18. 960 I'd Imagine it would've been more but there was loads of bother the last time and the tickets were £20 which in my opinion is ludicrous for a friendly.
  19. Rangers' situation is a bit more like an sprinter robbing a bank and using the money to pay for the best coach to get the best results to be fair.
  20. That relative thought had crossed my mind as I was thinking from the angle of, there have been more than one club in Scotland fairly recently that have been in administration more than once.
  21. The Sevilla result is decent, but the other two aren't exactly heavyweights themselves, granted Feyenoord have since improved.
