I'd say it was more a suggestion that a purely Scottish party is more likely to look out for what is good for Scotland, as opposed to Labour, where their Scottish based MPs are whipped to vote at the UK level, whether it is good or bad for their constituents or Scotland as a whole. You may disagree with what the SNP see as 'good' for Scotland (and you do - sometimes even eloquently), but I don't agree that it's the "same old nonsense that people are happy to swallow without question" - that label applies more to stuff like the "vote SNP get Tories" rubbish that Wings has thoroughly debunked. But how do "the left" envisage having any extra leverage with the "big two" having a monopoly on power, surely having a strong SNP voice in the mix will haul the Labour party back to the left, even if only marginally? Instead of doing a blanket reduction, they'll adjust as necessary. Its a way of saying "we'll cut corp tax now... But we might raise it later... Maybe... But probably not".
