Yes, it was the same old nonsense that people are happy to swallow without question.

I'd say it was more a suggestion that a purely Scottish party is more likely to look out for what is good for Scotland, as opposed to Labour, where their Scottish based MPs are whipped to vote at the UK level, whether it is good or bad for their constituents or Scotland as a whole.

You may disagree with what the SNP see as 'good' for Scotland (and you do - sometimes even eloquently), but I don't agree that it's the "same old nonsense that people are happy to swallow without question" - that label applies more to stuff like the "vote SNP get Tories" rubbish that Wings has thoroughly debunked.

:-)) Think your right here .Just so Margaret Curran interviewed. There is the evidence 100%

Too right ...stumbling and stammering caused by trying to remember what lies have been told and having to say "more savings" instead of "cuts". Can't be easy being so duplicitous instead of straightforward.

Your first paragraph is no different from the SNP who are whipped to party line harder than any other party.

The SNP supporters are happy to spew the parties anti-austerity message for Westminster... Conveniently forgetting that the SNP are very much an austerity party in Holyrood, where they are government.

So can i ask, what would your preferred Westminster government consist of? Labour majority or minority Labour with "help" from others?

My preferred government would be a CPGB or SBFLP majority with Labour, Tories, SNP, and the rest of the Neoloberals wiped off the map. :wink2:

Thank you for your clarity! That was a textbook body swerve :Tumbleweed-2:

It wasn't a body swerve. It doesn't matter whether it's a Labour minority with support or majority.

To you boys and girls there's no difference between Labour and Tories, to me there's no difference between Labour, Tory, SNP, Lib Dem etc.

I think most people here and in particular in Scotland as a whole, do know the difference.

For a Socialist? Absolutely no difference. The lefts disgust at Tommy Sheridan's endorsement of the SNP isn't baseless you know.

But how do "the left" envisage having any extra leverage with the "big two" having a monopoly on power, surely having a strong SNP voice in the mix will haul the Labour party back to the left, even if only marginally?

It's going to take more than a group of SNP MP's begging for corporation tax to be devolved to influence Labour

There was a real anti cut anti austerity option for Tommy to back in TUSC, but he fancied a wee ego trip instead.

Nope. Instead of doing a blanket reduction, they'll adjust as necessary.

Its a way of saying "we'll cut corp tax now... But we might raise it later... Maybe... But probably not".

And that is always Tommy's problem. If he didn't have the ego he might get on better. Even I was a big fan of his until I met him at a work protest and seen what he was like
