I'm against bank bailouts too but I recognise that it all ties in with the corporatist or fascistic system with have in banking of powerful state influence, state covering of losses and private profits. It's sick but that's why we need to change the monetary and banking systems. We need to uncouple banking and the state.

It's just another massive scam to transfer more wealth from the poor to the already rich. We should have let the banks go bankrupt and bailed out the people. The bankers who caused this mess should be in jail instead of raking in even bigger bonuses than they were getting before. Of course, they all knew that they weren't going to go to jail as they were only doing what was expected of them. The wealthy and powerful look after their own. They (the politicians) didn't have much choice. It's the system's fault that those banks can't fail. I wish they could but we have trampled all over the free-market for too long. Scottish 18th century free banking is the answer to nanny-state socialism for the banks.

phart
The political will to do what iceland did wasn't there, Iraq has shown that if there is a political will "facts" can be found to carry it through. The SNP would have bailed out the banks as well, I would have spent the same money, just would have given it to the citizens instead of the banks. That's who created the wealth in the first place. Because London is the 2nd most important financial centre in the world. Banks create 97% of the money supply when they create new credit. If we hadn't helped them, we would have had a large contraction of the money supply. It's the system that is the problem. Central banking, deposit insurance, legal privileges. Bzzzz
She's passionate and definitely not the "most dangerous woman in Britain" but her party's socialist policies and lack of knowledge of economics could prove disastrous. It's great the SNP aren't ruling Scotland with an socialist fist like they would be if we voted "yes". Rubbish. Being fairer doesn't mean " ruling Scotland with an socialist fist". That's just ignorant and scaremongering.
