Yep. Not trying to win a battle of wits, just wanted to show contempt for a comment expressing utter disregard for the welfare for others.

you okay calling someone a cunt without full context then , am suggesting that measures imposed have been disproportionate to risk to a number who are on last legs anyways ; hopefully we can sometime have a discussion on the massive indirect knock on effect of this ; mental health in the young being only one area - i won't bore you with my own tale of woe , but obviously a bit biased about the whole thing

while am being a total cunt , i also hope after this we can also look at 'lifestyle' choices and how the influx of 'existing comorbidities' that always threatened to overflow the health system had a large proportion of nicotine and pizza addicts within

I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion whether it makes them look a total cunt or not

life by the contempt, die by the contempt though.

Which is why i try and just stick to the data, as opposed to trying to frame it in perjorative do this, or perjorative does that.

Everyone is willing to trade someone elses suffering for their comfort, it's just a case of where you draw the line.

Auchinyell isn’t completely wrong though or especially cunty.

Life does have to move on, as safely as possible.

Its possibly the most cunty thing I have read on here for a while, and I am most definitely  in the category that think we need to move on.

I think most folk are reasonable in terms of balancing where that line is drawn.

Im in WA at the moment, 2 deaths so far from covid I think it is. Ultimately more people will die when the border eventually opens up with the rest of Australia and the world. It’s horrible when you actually think about it like that but it does have to happen.

The UK is still running at about 1300 deaths per week.

Some people want to get rid of the line though which is exactly the point I was making. I am quite willing to balance things and I know my line will be in a different place to many and accept that. But I simply don't accept getting rid of the line. There has to be give and take and you can't have no give and just take.

That seems reasonable and i don’t disagree.

What restrictions are folk moaning about. There are hardly any and none are being enforced. Folk can do pretty much anything they want.

Exactly. Even mask wearing isn’t being enforced in most places. Guy sitting opposite me on the train yesterday bragging to a woman next to him about how he had never worn a mask in 2 years, apart from on a flight, like it was a fookin badge of honour. She is sitting there with a mask on protecting him and he is slevering his germs over her.

Long-term cardiovascular outcomes of COVID-19

The cardiovascular complications of acute coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) are well described, but the post-acute car-diovascular manifestations of COVID-19 have not yet been comprehensively characterized. Here we used national healthcare databases from the US Department of Veterans Affairs to build a cohort of 153,760 individuals with COVID-19, as well as two sets of control cohorts with 5,637,647 (contemporary controls) and 5,859,411 (historical controls) individuals, to estimate risks and 1-year burdens of a set of pre-specified incident cardiovascular outcomes.

We show that, beyond the first 30 d after infection, individuals with COVID-19 are at increased risk of incident cardiovascular disease spanning several categories,
including

cerebrovascular disorders, dysrhythmias, ischemic and non-ischemic heart disease, pericarditis, myocarditis, heart failure and thromboembolic disease. These risks and burdens were evident even among individuals who were not hospitalized during the acute phase of the infection and increased in a graded fashion according to the care setting during the acute phase
(non-hospitalized, hospitalized and admitted to intensive care).

Our results provide evidence that the risk and 1-year burden of cardiovascular disease in survivors of acute COVID-19 are substantial. Care pathways of those surviving the acute episode of COVID-19 should include attention to cardiovascular health and disease.

Denmark ended all preventative measures on 1st February

They just decided to "get on with it"

Cases and deaths are spiralling - mortality approaching all time peak

It's just the flu though

Probably your water that is the issue champ

At all times NS has followed the advice from the scientists despite Yoons shouting that "it's all about her"

Johnson has made decisions on what is popular and as a deflection

Not sure that's exactly true - i'd love to hear the scientific evidence for some of the bizarre rules.

Not sure we listened to the South African scientists, we just seemed to ignore them and went into full panic mode even though they had more experience of Omicron? Have we followed anything SA did following their outbreak? After all, they were that buzz phrase "ahead of the curve" in comparison to us. They ended isolation for Covid with no symtoms, long before England even mentioned it and it doesn't seem to have any adverse effect?

Interesting to see what we do with Covid passes now given that NI, Wales and England have got rid of them for nightclubs etc and NS said the other week they would be hear longer term in Scotland. NI also getting rid of all legally enforced restrictions from 28th Feb, same as England.

Hopefully we remove the charade of having to put on a mask to go to the pisser in a restaurant, whilst at the same time have no need to wear one in a pub or nightclub! Rules for the sake of rules.

Zero issue with restrictions when they are needed, which they have blatantly massively been needed, especially this time last year but i don't think asking questions of some of the weird decisions the governments have made, make you in any way a yoon!.

Caution rather than "panic mode"

The USA is an outlier for Omicron in that it has sped up deaths unlike elsewhere
