Chripper
Michael Johnston came on and was an instant threat. This kid has talent, however, he's not going to progress if he just gets a few minutes here and there. Burke was decent, but I don't think he can play as a long striker. If anything I'd play him as a false number 9 (free role) or just behind the striker. He needs space from the defense to be able to stretch his legs. As far as the referee suspicions go, why do people (Not just Celtic fans) suspect referees of bias each and every time that they make a mistake? Why not use the same rules with players? Scott Sinclair missed a sitter from 2 yards out, why is he not suspected of bias? What about his penalty "miss"? Every human being in the world makes mistakes, apparently in football players and managers are immune to criticism, but whenever a ref makes a mistake it's labelled as sinister. (And I can't believe I have to say this, but I am not a Rangers fan. Just a pre-emptive disclaimer. I dislike Rangers as much as I dislike Celtic.) More than once I've called a Rangers fan after giving my honest opinion, I've also see a few other people being accused of Rangers, too. It's strange, seems like you have a choice not to criticize any half of the Old Firm (Lest be accused of supporting the other half) or you criticize both, simultaneously. Ask Macy? Is any official in any sport held accountable, though? Tennis refs aren't interviewed at the end of matches to explain why they made a bad call. And yes, they do make mistakes sometimes by over-ruling line judges. In the NFL the refs are mic'd up and everything, but I cannot think of a sport where the officials are under so much pressure as football officials. What makes our situation even more ridiculous is our refs aren't professional, so why should they under so much scrutiny? We don't ask our manager or players why they make mistakes, and they get paid fortunes. We don't question players or managers because they're human beings, for some reason football fans don't humanize referees. In England the refs are professional, and they aren't under the same scrutiny as Scottish refs. They also have VAR in England, which as we've seen recently, can be open to interpretation/mistakes. I'm honestly surprised that Scottish refs have never went on strike. People here know about football, right? (Although I am starting to wonder, some people don't know the mechanics of a 12 month rolling contract. I'm not kidding) Would anyone here volunteer to be a part-time ref in Scotland? I wouldn't. I'm not asking for them to put their hands up for every missed throw in, play-on or wrongly called goal kick. A bit of accountability at a match (or season) defining moment would earn them a little bit of grace with the pitchfork wielding masses though. In tennis you've got your hawkeye and England you've got your VAR, so there's less of a chance of human error (and god knows we all fall victim to it) defining a big incident. Managers and players have press conferences around the clock in which they need to justify how they are going about their business. They tend to forget when a decision goes for their team and tend to magnify when decisions go against them. I think that's a fair point, only if they go professional, though. I don't see why they shouldn't be professional, I mean, without refs there wouldn't be any matches. I was watching a tennis match last week (Can't remember between who) when the Umpire wrongly over-ruled a line judge, only for the player who was at the brunt of the decision to challenge it. It was then overturned. But imagine if the player was out of challenges? The mistake would've been set-in-stone without the Umpire being grilled over it. I suppose managers get asked why he's picking this and that player, etc, but players don't get grilled about why they missed an open goal or why a player gave away a penalty, etc. Even if referee robots were created fans would still accuse them of showing bias. Why did you miss that open goal, Sinclair? I wasn't concentrating as I was tired seeing as it was the 90th minute. Referee getting questioned would be able to say he didn't have a great view, wasn't 100% so couldn't give it, interpreted it differently from others, and so on. Getting the referee's side of events would be interesting. 100% agree with you about their status though.

Klopp didn't ask Salah why he missed an open goal, neither did the media. The Liverpool fans didn't accuse him of being an Everton agent.
