1ANDYP
The crowd carried them over the line. A killer pass. The old firm. We don't do walking away.
SMcoolJ
People are now just quoting football phrases!! Jeezuz, some of them are actually ok and not just "Wanky".
scottishedgar
"Without so and so's goals, said team would be in .....position" They do realise if they didn't have the aforementioned player they would have someone else in his place! sbcmfc
Family Final Felt it applied to the 1991 final, which is widely regarded as one of the best cup finals in recent history. The two teams were managed by the McLean brothers and it was a bit more family friendly with no old firm involvement. Loads of guys I know my age (9 in 1991) and younger were all there with their maw, dad, granny and next door neighbours.
The Black Bra
Is 'Early Doors' a phrase that exists outside football? Gets on my tits, can't help thinking someone invented it (Big Ron or someone) and it just caught on and became part of the Engish language. The other one is 'it's a big ask'! It's like something a four year old would say. You could say 'it's a lot to ask' or 'a big challenge'. Isn't 'big ask' basically illiterate? Big arse more like. Gala Tartan Army (Borders)
Probably been mentioned but my most hated football phrase is 'we go again'. Means absolutely nothing
DoonTheSlope
A new player or new manager after his first away game "we knew it wouldn't be easy, it's a tough place to come to"
Reevesy
Two guys in work this morning discussing Sunday's game and one says: "The form book goes out the window when it comes to Old Firm games" Wanky, and untrue.

Barney Rubble
'It's a massive six-pointer tomorrow.' So how come when it's a draw the teams only get a point each then?
sbcmfc
To be fair, I get the 6 pointer one, as there can be a 6 point swing between the teams depending on the result.
neil r
Aye the six point one works. Not wanky.
