irnbruman
I'm voting Green in Lytham St Annes although they have no chance - constituency is one of the safest tory seats in country. Last election I voted Lib Dem - couldn't ever bring myself to vote for them again - sell out scumbags.

exile
For five years, Nick Clegg insisted that they went into to Coalition for the national interest, not party interest. This implies he was ready to sacrifice his party for the good of the country. If he was sincere, then he can have no regrets about last night's result. Thank you and goodbye. Jaggy Jim
BBC News just did a quick item on the Lid Dem leadership contest. It has to be an MP and they must have the support of at least 10% of the other MPs. So that means it's 1 of 7 (their 8 MPs less Clegg) and they need the support of 1 other! Carmichael was mentioned in the top 3! They really are screwed.

Guest flumax
What's wrong with em, they just tell little porkies and break promises. Every one does it, it's alright. I mean, if everyone who's ever lied and got caught and paid for their actions, society would crumble and four horseman beckon. They have us dave Cameron pm, that's all they did, why would anyone begrudge giving him a leg up.

Goozay
They've massively lost their way, but I think there's still space for them in England, particularly if they're able to highlight the stuff they wouldn't let the Tories do which they've saved up for today's Queen Speech. They need to find a brand new rhetoric for Scotland though. Probably needs to evolve into a separate sister party. As does the Scottish Labour Party. buckielugger
The LibDems continually crowed about raising the tax allowance to £10k+ and along with their tory masters claim this was to help the low paid..... HOWEVER. .. Anyone receiving in -work benefits, ie the low paid, will have such benefits reduced as a result of a bit less tax took off them. Their gain in income is therefore marginal. Also due to the big increase in VAT, which went up 15% as soon as the coalition came to power, then any tax rebate on income tax is overtaken big time by the extra VAT every time we shop. Plus. .odd that they never once mentioned that THEY all received this tax allowance gain too...as did all taxpayers poor or rich. And once you have left the benefits system behind and are relatively well off, you DO gain. And the VAT increase likewise hits the lower paid most as ALL income has to be spent to live. The whole thing was one big con from these disgraceful tossers.
