Ok, I wasn't being dense!

When are they getting formed, and who will be standing for them?

You were

Scottish Left Project. A coalition between SSP, RIC and non aligned Socialists. Candidates will include the likes of Jonathon Shafi, Kitty Kat Boyd and a few other handsome buggers.

Why do Labour and Conservative parties have the word 'Scottish' before their titles in Scotland when they are UK wide parties?

Scotland is a region in which they operate and it isn't limited to the aforementioned:

Scottish Greens (Green Party)

Scottish Communists (Communist Party of Great Britain)

Labour and lib dem projected seats fall a good bit short of a majority. So would be no use to labour. They would most likely need the support of a large group of SNP mp's either way.

There is a good chance that Labour would need support from SNP AND the Lib Dems. Although they will have half a dozen SDLP MPs on their side. Even if Labour hold onto half their seats in Scotland I can't see them getting more than about 280 seats. 25 Lib dems + 6 SDLP - still not enough.

Scottish greens are a separate party, and fine well you know it.

... Well you're a Tory so that's not surprising. I'd like to think that's not a view shared by the majority of independence supporters, but I fear I'm mistaken.

I think a lot of folk think it doesn't make much difference to ordinary folk, and the poorer folk in our society, whether we have Labour or Tories in power at Westminster. So independence minded folk will prefer what they perceive to be best for getting independence in the future. It's a tough judgement to make but we don't have the power to decide anyway. That will be done by the voters down south, which is kinda the point of independence for a lot of people anyway.

There is a Welsh section of the Labour and Communist parties, not sure about Conservative.

I didn't actually

That's the structure Labour etc should be using.

 - ok, you got me!

SLP sounds very interesting, I've been really impressed by Jonathon Shafi and Kay Boyd. Who else is involved? I haven't heard about it?

*whispers* Jim Sillars :(

There's not been much noise yet as they're not involved in this election. More information... And even the occasional musings from the TAMBs resident Labour Stooge will be found on their website:

I had to politely chuck the Labour Candidate out of the front of my store today. I actually felt sorry for him. On his own, no pomp or ceremony, just a depressed look.

Labour polled about 10% in this part of leafy surrey. He predicted an increase in Tory vote, with Lib Dems second and he is aiming for third hopefully ahead of UKIP.

we had a bus load up from England today delivering Red Tory leaflets in Prestwick everyone of them had English accents

The boy who delivers the Souter National Party leaflets around here is English, as is his wife who also delivers the leaflets. Nice man. I believe he might be a former councillor as well, but not 100% on that.
