JECK
this is great news, did wonder about broony as soon as mulgrew got the red, who incidentallt has been superb under strach. Hopefullythis is not celtic rushing him back, was it not a fairly bad hamstring tear and he was ootfor 3 months? Going to be very important for us in getting points in poland. Blantyre_Braveheart
I don't think anyone is in a position to say if he's likely to be a regular 5 years from now. Exactly look at Snoddgrass, In 2008 he just moved to a league 1 club after years of hype (and failing to live up to it), now look at him, in the last couple of years he has became probably our best and most consistent player. Caledonian Craig
How did the big man play? gotten the full 90 there i see, great to know he's playin regularly again. He played his part in a well-drilled Villa defence that shut out Liverpool with a fair share of blocks so would say he had a very good game barring a couple of wreckless challenges. Bobby Russell's Lovechild
Jordan Rhodes He scores goals As much as I'm loving Strachan being in charge, there is something seriously wrong when this lad is not getting picked. Caledonian Craig
As much as I'm loving Strachan being in charge, there is something seriously wrong when this lad is not getting picked. The big problem or reason he is not being picked is because he cannot lead the front line. By this I mean he will score goals feeding off of his co-striker or poaching goals in the box. His game is NOT about holding the ball-up upfield until support arrives and developing attacks from there which is the type of striker Strachan is looking for in certain matches a la V Germany. He may very well be involved in future squads in this campaign though say versus Gibraltar where we are likely to start with two strikers upfront. The thing is, it's great to have different options if things aren't going our way and he's a different option. It's just worrying when the squads are named, he seems to be completely frozen out

It's just worrying when the squads are named, he seems to be completely frozen out But if things aren't going our way and we change the man up front then Rhodes still isn't the man to lead the line alone. Sure he may be good to call on if we are in search of plenty of goals with a strike partner alongside him but he is just not up to leading the line and you feel that is the type of striker Strachan is looking for - a line leader.
