ShedTA
Anyone else think their statement right after the result might have triggered this from BDO? So are we saying that in BDO's book that telfer played for a different club?
thplinth
This is what chislers do. They shafted a 40 years in old burd for a few measly quid that would not have meant fukk all to them but the world to her (I expect). We all know there are a lot of good folk in the hhun horde, so kill off this abomination now, it will only get worse. Ibrox is not going anywhere, it will work itself out. But first you have to send RFC 2012 to the bottom. Time to clean out the rats. After that I suggest you re-invent yourselves. New club means a new start. Old club, old history means you import all the old poison as well. Sometimes new is good. I would embrace this, second time round you have nothing to fear right. But go for the jugular now. No ing around. Edited December 16, 2014 by thplinth
Fred_Zeppelin
So are we saying that in BDO's book that telfer played for a different club? I don't know if there's any truth in it but I heard that BDO sent them a "cease and desist" letter about them claiming to be the same club and that's why they amended their statement. thplinth
As the people running what is left of RFC 1899 BDO do seem to be unimpressed with the people past & present running RFC 2012. BDO are probably the best management RFC 1899 has had in the last 30 years at least. I quite like them.

thplinth
It never really occurred to me before but the crazy end of this latest incarnation could well be that the remains of RFC 1899 in one final death throe kill RFC 2012. And then BDO scatter the collective ashes to the creditors.... And then after that like a Phoenix a new RFC 20XX will be born. Or a new Ikea, coin toss... bruce778
STV Sport @STVSport Rangers oldco liquidators seek chunk of Charlie Telfer tribunal cash http://bit.ly/1IYfWt3 The liquidators are just doing their job but it's a bit of an anomaly that old co receives all payments for football income and new co had to pay all football debts. I suppose that's all down to the SFA decision, which doesn't affect legal entitlements. Given old co was the one paying telfer for most of his time at rangers, fair enough they get some of the money received.

EddardStark
SPFL have a significant financial problem due to lack of sponsors so I imagine is one way of plugging that gap. It looks too contrived and probably means the SPFL will use the old club new club card as a tactic. It will be interesting to see how this develops because the SPFL or whatever form it was in have already withheld funds from Rangers for a range of issues. Another way of looking at is it is part of a broadside against the current regime. This, plus Ally's pay off and a potential failed IPO for £8m in Jan may force the regime into a corner and by releasing this statement on the stock exchange they are trying to get fans on board for their cause. Scunnered
I've not been keeping up with things recently as I no longer have a personal interest... But a The Rangers supporting amigo of mine was complaining this morning that things have been too quiet with goings on behind the scenes. I thought quite a lot had happened over the last week or so, if this is quiet what's it like the rest of the time
