I met him once at a dinner party in Edinburgh about 20 years ago. He was a back-bench MP at the time I think, but had already been identified in the media as one to watch. He was a self-satisfied, arrogant obnoxious pryck, treated everyone at the table as his audience. To be fair I was roaring drunk by half-way through the evening, and the next day my then (soon to be ex-) girlfriend used pretty much the same adjectives about me. I'm fairly sure I called him a c**t. In fact, thinking about it, it might even have been his flat, in one of the side roads off Buccleuch Street near the Meadows.

Sounds like your equivalent of the day I mooned Donald Findlay at a petrol station on the way to a Scotland game :D
