The playoff paths for route C and D in the Nations League give two lesser teams a chance to qualify, rather than rewarding the 24 best teams. That’s what I mean by falling into the finals, rather than earning our place. As an example, it’s like if England’s Champions League places went to the champions of each of the four different divisions, rather than the top 4 in the Premier League.
