EddardStark
Stating the obvious but we want two wins for Germany and preferably by decent margins? Just seen that Germany are at home is the second game. Edited October 8, 2014 by EddardStark
Davied14
Poland vs Germany is on ITV4 on Saturday after our game for anyone interested. I agree that you are right in us wanting comfortable German victories in both games.
Duncan Blackheart
Hope the Germans stuff them and Lewandowski gets so wound up he gets a red card.
davew
I think we want a close game on Saturday don't we? We want Poland to throw everything they've got against Germany. A 2-1 Germany win with a last minute winner.

A 2-1 Germany win with a last minute winner. No. We want Germany to crush Poland to leave them spirits and confidence-wise crushed for their games against us. Seems clear that would be ideal. Duncan Blackheart
Poland 0-6 Deutschland would be pretty geil.
andyg83
Or two draws bringing Germany into the fight.
ParisInAKilt
Or two draws bringing Germany into the fight. Ireland getting a point in Germany can't be good for us
Dillinger
Now that we've been beaten by them, the scenario you're looking for is that everyone else gets beat by them, but by more than one goal. That way, although we didn't get any points from the fixture, we did "well" in comparison to other teams by only coming out of it -1. Seems pretty obvious to me. jailender
The best results will be for everyone to do worse by at least one goal against Germany than we do.
deecie
Exactly. Germany to win everything, everybody else to draw everything. It's not rocket surgery.

weekevie04
Agree. Germany to win every game apart from Hampden of course, and we do enough to secure 2nd.
Sheach
The head to head only matters when comparing the teams who are deadlocked. If we end up tied on points with Poland it won't matter if we lost by 1 and they lost by 4 to Germany. It will matter what we did against each other! Only if we both beat each other by the same score, or 2 draws will overall goal difference come into play! betsy123
If McCarthy and Coleman are fit to play for Ireland, this is as good a chance as any for us to knick a point, due to the amount of German injuries. However, I fear the Germans will draw with Poland and take it out on us. Poland 1-1 Germany, Germany 4-1Ireland
Bino's
Germany were awful against us and will need to up their game massively to take six points. it's obvious why they've been playing 4 centre halves as their new full backs against us were awful we created at least six chances and if hadn't been for fact that our centre halves can't defend crosses we would have won unsure if schweinstieger but hope so as we need them to win can't see any demolition jobs
deecie
can't see any demolition jobs World Champions v part-time Gibraltar. Right enough.
Bino's
World Champions v part-time Gibraltar. Right enough. are we not talking about Poland Germany Germany Ireland? see schweinstieger, kheira, reus, Gomez, ozil out and of course lahm, klose and merteseker gone that is not the world champions anymore

Caledonian Craig
Draws please- Lets win the group. Just played the hardest team away and they didn't look anything great Dream on eh? Germany are grand masters (probably world champions at it) at winning games even if they play not so great. They find a way as sure as eggs are eggs as their qualifying results throughout history show. Scarily impressive and nothing is going to change in this campaign. Our focus has to be on finishing second though.
smiler82
Draws please- Lets win the group. Just played the hardest team away and they didn't look anything great I admire your confidence but lets just focus on qualification by any means... Two comfortable German victories please. Hopefully getting hammered by Argentina and run close by Scotland will wake them up.
Bannannan
I give Poland a big chance unfortunately.Retirements and injuries and Lewandowski spell danger for us.I wish we were playing Germany at hampden on saturday.
Caledonian Craig
Poland have not beaten a team above pot five in their last two qualifying campaigns. To think they will beat Germany who have a peerless record in qualifying matches is fanciful to say the least.
ParisInAKilt
Maybe but look at their injuries this would arguably be the best time to play them at home and get a result
