I can relate a lot with this. I have been Glasgow regular since the Scotstoun move. It would seem so much better than visiting a football ground. Good pies, cold beer and decent rugby. Atmosphere can be quiet but no worse than fir Park so I can live with it. Warriors have such a great club culture. It reminds me of gong to football abroad. Bars and food places ' stay open after the game. So relaxed. Football needs to get its act together big time.

Anyone mind st etiene? Had to be the steepest top tier I have seen.

Meant to ask folk who were in North stand what they thought of the front barrier. I have to say that I found it really low in comparison to other grounds. I mind a guy fell off during the of 'shame game'. Seeing it on Friday I am not surprised. The lad beside me was leaning over it a few times to see below and I found myself grabbing his jacket as he was drunk. Sweaty palms thinking about it. Must have been about 900mm high. I am sure most stadia are taller. When I heard the tragic news I wondered if someone had fallen off.

I told the lads round me to pipe down about mcgeady and I am no celtic fan. Some took it too far tbh. Time to let it go. I suspect that home games against England ni and roi bring out some folk that wouldn't otherwise be at our games. Add much as I like the Irish I would rather play them away or not at all. Friday wasn't a typical tartan army vibe. I found it far from menacing but not normal. That said the celebrations were fairly epic when it went in.

I think the humour as well. We have the ability to laugh at ourselves which some countries don't. It is funny that when you travel the Irish and the scots naturally gravitate to each other and end up being friends. There must be something in it. Happens too often for it to be a coincidence. So yes I do view them as our Celtic cousins. Doesn't mean I want them to win at sport all the time but I can empathise with them more than most.

I don't agree. I think the scots and Irish are more similar than any other of the home nations. We have a great deal of shared culture and shared history. Sometimes it hasn't all been friendly but there is definitely a connection between the peoples. Try googling the origin of the terms scots and you will soon see.

I heard a guy behind me calling them pikeys. I had a quiet word with him and he stopped. No time for this sort of thing. People need to have a bit of respect for others. Some think at a football match any abuse goes.

How do we stop this stuff though? Is there anything the fans groups can do to encourage better behaviour. You wouldn't have dreamed about anything like this only a few years ago. How do we nip this in the bud? I wouldn't expect any abuse in Dublin to be honest. I think this game attracted a certain element to it. Fingers crossed Tuesday goes off without a hitch.

A few guys on the Irish forums saying they had really bad experiences in our end last night. Coins thrown, sectarian abuse and general foaming at the mouth abuse. I had a word with a guy who took the McGeady stuff too far and was shouting 'pikey' at him. He was fine when I pointed out that there were Irish in our end and that we should have some respect regardless. Got me thinking about a Macedonia game where my mate and I had a word with guys swearing constantly and shouting abuse. The Spain game also had a guy behind me shouting 'daygos'. There was also a minor skirmish in the south stand between two Scottish guys. Think we need to watch it. I have noticed a few more idiots in the last few years. My wee cousin has stopped going because of it. What are everyone's thoughts? Would be keen to hear from the Irish lads in our end for their view. One thing I would say that when the goal went in the atmosphere visibly changed and got better. Was it the tension and the Mcgeady angle?

I meant did they enjoy their trip. Hope they did. Irish people are some of the best around.

Imagine a country that was worried about the ta causing trouble. You would laugh them out of town. Heaven knows what the Irish are thinking

I would actually be really annoyed if these lads were refused entry. They have been shafted by their own FA. Let them enjoy the game. Hope we beat them though!
