So who's your miracle manager (same goes to many TAMBers on this thread) ?

Before Lithuania......every pundit/most fans/ex players etc thought we would/should beat them...........We didn't. Before tonight most would have thought we would put up a fight........we didn't.....................DOESNT NEED A MIRACLE MANAGER, BUT MAYBE ONE WITH A CLUE.

Bit of both no doubt. Some made basic mistakes no manager can be blamed for.

Plays in a way that a poor defence is less exposed.

Goes out to try and out pass Slovakia with a midfield poor on ball and leaves defence exposed.

We should have gone there and sat deep to protect the weakest area of team then try to hit them with pace on break.

Strachan played a high defensive line, a midfield that tried to out pass them and no pace going forward. They just waited and picked us off with a defence too easy to get at.

He had no plan.

Look how much better we are now ?? We're still not qualifying and I'd guess many people slagging WGS were also creaming their jeans when he got appointed. He's failed but who's going to create 11 Messi's and make a difference in the immediate term ?

The importance point is that Strahan has failed and needs to go.

We're a very different team to the one who drew away in Poland.

Players still made basic mistakes but don't get me wrong, the manager carries more of the blame.

I doubt there would be much improvement whoever comes in. The same personnel problems are there. Bombscare defence with other better options out there, no strikers playing in a top league and largely a squad full of championship players. We may cut ourt 3-0 hammerings but bottom-line I see is we still will come up short until we have a better pool of players to call on.

Sorry the idea that those defenders are the best we have is laughable...........we have tried them and tried them and tried them......They don't work........THAT MEANS WE HAVE TO TRY SOMETHING ELSE REGARDLESS.

Exactly.

And the cycle will start all over again. New manager named, fans tommy tank over his appointment, few months of promise then the slippery slope and the bloke becomes a khunt because he can't polish a turd. No qualification and he gets the sack and it all starts over again. It is depressing but that is how it has been for two decades now near enough.

I wasn't. I never wanted him.

So can you name who you'd play in their place? Greer is a no no with many fans here and Berra has precious few fans either.

It's not inconceivable that we've appointed 3 poor managers.

But who's fault is that and who would replace him and get us qualified ?

It's also not inconceivable that Smith and McLeish both left at the right time. If Strachan had quit after his first 15 games, history would view him very differently.

For this qualifying campaign no one will get us qualified.

It is not all about qualification or bust it is about getting in a manager who gets the best out the squad and gives us the best chances of making a good run at qualifying.

That isnt Strachan. That is clear.
