Scouse Eddie
Nah. I'm still a Labour supporter here in Manchester - I couldn't not be. Labour will still win the next GE as the Tory vote in the SE and parts of Yorkshire will be split. But, who cares, Scotland will be free. Ed I maybe not as old as you and have voted Labour for 30 years but no more. How can senior Labour Mps suddenly gang up on their homeland and claim we will all help you. I am no Tory and you know that, but Labour can get fcuked and come next year when they knock on my door they will be told.why. My city spoke up against them and hopefully Scotland can. It's a democracy - well, as close as it can be - but I'm more anti-Tory than pro... anyone. But I am rather Left of modern Labour. (Shampoo socialist, me.) Head & Shoulders above them a'! mcnish
If the ultimate legacy of this day is that the entire population of Dundee and Aberdeenshire emigrates to another continent then I for one will certainly be a happier Scot! tartandon
I will never be British. I am Scottish and will remain Scottish even with a No vote. Even if the majority disagree with me, it's my right to have my own identity.
Auld_Reekie
If it's No, watch the UK state move quickly to fix this. Cameron and the Queen both making statements tomorrow and I actually expect them to surprise people by committing to far more devolution than people expect. It's the only way to preserve the Union and they have no option but to deliver.
RenfrewBlue
If it's a No vote I will be a broken man. I'm not sure I will be able to get over it for a long time. I'll never be British (i'd rather be dead quite frankly) but Scottish would no longer be an option. If the majority vote not to be a nation then we won't have one. I've bought my ticket for Georgia game but might not go. I will almost certainly never go to another Scotland game. Why bother? It'd be like supporting an imaginary team. thplinth
When you get beat in a fair fight you put it behind you. When you get beat in an unfair fight you don't, it festers. If it is a No, it festers.
antidote
Im sorry, but Im likely to be bitter for some time. The establishment, the No campaign, the No parties, the media... Im not about to forgive and forget a lot that has gone on. Absolutely proud to have been part of Yes but I will not respect how it's been won. Here! Here! Still boycott, won't pay license and why should I speak to someone who has denied my country real democracy. All of us YES supporters should wear a pin badge saying IVY (I voted YES) with pride so we could recognise each other. The first thing I'll be asking anyone is what did you vote from now on. ZoltanBuchan
I'll be making my fortune over the next few years with a range of 'don't blame me I voted Yes' merchandise! Am sure that if Yes is 45% or more then it's the death knell for the union - it'll just be a question of how long it takes. Seriously, I think anything over 40 per cent for Yes keeps the issue alive. I like the 'IVY' thing - use it for the fightback. I remeber printing lots of car stickers - back in '79, saying: 'Don't blame me - I voted Labour'. Only had two car windaes broken. thplinth
I bit my tongue all the way up to the end. And now there is a a few hours window before the results start. That was not democracy. When you get beat in a fair fight you put it behind you. When you get beat in an unfair fight you don't, it festers. If it is a No, it festers. I did not know what the results were going to be when I posted this. That was not democracy. So do not meekly accept the result and do not meekly accept any 'never again for a generation' shite neither. Get indignant. Get angry. You were shafted. redstevie007
and when you see some of the videos on you tube you have to wonder just how fair the counting was Here's one. A bit ranty so I feel a bit of an eejit posting it. Could the guy be maybe following some kind of procedure by initialing/signing the top paper in each 100-ballot pile? http://youtu.be/jRWWilODlsc
