the_burger
I won't dignify the second part of your post with a response. As for the above, it's not exactly a revelation Plinthy. My Yes vote came with the belief that the SNP would be defeated in the first Scottish election, I debated this with people on both sides during the referendum campaign. Just as you find Socialists dangerous, I find Nationalists dangerous, I'm not going to add my vote to an event that would be to the detriment to the working class. If there was a referendum tomorrow I'd vote No. So do you now believe the SNP have tightened their grip and that they would dominate Scottish politics post-indy? I know a lot of the support tend to follow them blindly. But to me that is because there is now a strong desire for Indy, after the whole referendum debacle (media, Scottish Labour etc. etc.) You say "nationalists", but most of the support is ex-labour surely? In an indy Scotland I think the SNP would certainly win the first election, but afterwards I think politics would evolve in Scotland. Incidentally, when you were campaigning last year, did you believe that indy would have been good for the working class in Scotland and rUK? Incidentally, when you were campaigning last year, did you believe that indy would have been good for the working class in Scotland and rUK? There are two different type of Yes supporters. There are the Peevers and Antidotes who would vote Yes even for a scorched earth, these are Nationalists, and then you have the others, the Parklifes, and the Parisinakilts, I can't claim to speak for them but I believe their Yes vote is also conditional. They can correct me if I'm wrong. My Yes vote didn't come easy, it took a lot for me to put the TU's, and the Labour party's importance to the Labour movement out of my mind. It troubled me up to polling day but ultimately it was an after thought. I'm leaving to take my daughter to dance class just now. I'll expand later. scotlad
Well to all those no voting ship yard workers welcome to the dole queue,I hope your happy with your lot. This country is being stripped bare for having the cheek to try and break away. What disgusts me are people on here still support a union that is killing our country.True Quislings the lot of you. Quite a lot of those shipyard workers will have voted Yes too, don't forget. You shouldn't gloat too much. Regardless of how they voted, they are people who stand to lose their livelihoods. Undoubtedly, Scotland is being asset stripped. I imagine this will continue incrementally, in the hope that it isn't too obvious. What is going on should be highlighted in the hope that the penny finally drops with people. Here is another one to add to the list: Aquamarine Power, an Edinburgh based company which made wave energy converters, is to cease trading after it failed to find a buyer after government funding was cut. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-business-34901133 A short-sighted, penny-pinching decision, but one which has the added bonus of impeding Scotland's renewable energy potential, albeit temporarily. You've met me you imbecile I told you those Irn Bru crates would confuse people. Edited November 24, 2015 by scotlad

Far better to simply move to a country you respect than waste your life trying to convince anyone in Scotland.

antidote
Given your contributions since your return to the board, I'd say the original spelling is more apt. Precisely. His style reminds me of a well known unionist troll who would infest any political story in the MSM, his [original] handle was 'norsewarrior' and he would claim that he was a nationalist, but would twist things around, deviate, throw in some subtle insults and fill the thread with nonsense. Reading between the lines it was quite obvious that norsewarrior was a rampant unionist. Not saying scunnered is norsewarrior, but he certainly has the same style.
