Stubbs comments today are sure to add a bit of spice to things.

As if it needed it.

Hibs/Alan Stubbs are surely top of "the list" at the moment? Having displaced last weeks number one, the BBC/Chris Mclaughlin.

:P

Rangers will be criticised if they spend money and if they don't.

It seems a fair comment that managing Rangers is an easy job.

Were it not for a fairly freak set of circumstances with Hearts and Hibs being relegated in the same year, mccoist would've probably won the league last year.

Yeah but it seems a bit bizarre commenting on the money Rangers have spent when Hibs have that money available themselves.

I'd be amazed if they were operating on anything close to the same level as Rangers!

Rangers have cut back, but they will still have the 2nd biggest budget in the country, and by quite s bit I'd guess.

And yet McCoist somehow made managing Rangers look like the equivalent of Steve Fulton winning Mastermind.

Stubbs is just a tedious mouthpiece with an odd obsession for spouting off about Rangers every other day. Perhaps if he spent more time on his own team, they would avoid conceding 6 goals at home to us and getting cuffed off Dumbarton.

Despite that, Warburton had to build a new (successful) team from scratch, which is a difficult job, whilst simultaneously reducing the overall playing budget from previous seasons.

To give Stubbs the benefit of the doubt having seen the pre play off press conferences with Ian Barraclough, if all the questions he gets asked are about Rangers, a lot of his answers are going to be about Rangers.

Do you think, perhaps, that Barraclough was being asked Rangers-related questions because they were about to play Rangers?

On that basis, what's Stubbs' rationale in previous weeks? Being irked by us making 3 unacceptable bids for Allan? He comes across, to me anyway, as a bit of a wean.

Is the bottom line here that Rangers should be respected and revered at every turn, and that any negative comment will be seized upon and used to further the siege mentality they love so much?

In a word, no. Stubbs just talking sh!te as usual.

No, we deserve to be criticised for loads of things. I don't have a problem with that at all.

This is true but we were deservedly criticised last season for some very poor performances, so it's only fair to praise the team for the much better play so far this season.

I'm looking forward to the games now simply because we play entertaining, fast paced football now.

McCoist being such an incompetent arsehole doesn't mean that the job of winning the Championship with the budget Warburton has is a hard one. Which is not to say that Warburton won't do a good job, I believe he will, but in reality Stubbs has a point, even if he would have been better advised to keep his yap shut.

Another way to look at it is that Warburton has come in with a blank canvas (he didn't have to reduce the budget, as all the high earners were pretty much gone already) and a very sizeable budget for the level Rangers are at.

He's been able to buy players from the English Championship. There's only 2 teams in Scotland with the budget to do that. The other one doesn't play in the Championship.

Stubbs is right. For any competent football manager, being the manager of Rangers is easy right now.

No issues with Stubbs taking the PR game to Rangers after their shenanigans on the Allan affair. What was lost within the paltry bids that Rangers made for Allan was how much he was being offered in salary which is believed to be around £8k a week. Add that to the (admittedly reduced) large wage bill that will dwarf any team outside Celtic in the Scottish leagues, it would suggest its easier for a manager to build a team being able to sign players of better calibre with better wages.

Just heard that Rangers have also just poached our fitness coach who Stubbs has talked up in the past, possibly another reason for Stubbs having a go.

All of this may be true but for Stubbs to come out and say that any manager has a "very easy" job is a bit disrespectful at best. If it's as easy as equating budgets to success then he should be getting his jotters for getting cuffed off Dumbarton.
