Mindimoo
Think there about 5 weeks to go yet! I mind, Irvine Welsh tweeted about "another 6 weeks" to go in it, and that was about a week ago. I think that September 12th is the day that the result is announced. Cheers
Parklife
Parky will still give you that. I still don't think he'll win...
Ally Bongo
Present company excepted - those that are saying Corbyn has no chance of leading Labour to a General Election win are the same folk that are saying he cant win the Labour Leadership I've also noticed several SNP types getting twitchy about Corbyn who are also using the "With Corbyn at the head of Labour the Tories will win the next General Election" mantra When they use it in general thats fine but when they spout it at me i realise that they are just scaremongering like the establishment (or maybe a bit thick)
Ally Bongo
Corbyn is doing a talk in Glasgow this Friday It already had to be moved to a bigger venue and it has sold out again Will Kez be there ?
Orraloon
He won't see the general election if he's wins, further proving there's no socialist possibility with the Labour Party. Hope I'm wrong but Corbyn won't compromise and the majority of Labour MP's will revolt because of it I think Corbyn is their only chance of winning the next election. About 15 million folk didn't bother to vote in 2015. He only needs to persuade a fraction of those folk that he can make a difference to their lives and convince them to get off their arses and get out and vote for him. They can't win by going further to the right.

Toepoke
It'd certainly be interesting to see how a Corbyn led Labour party would interact with the SNP and it's effect on Holyrood politics. eg. what would Kez/Ken say when Jez stands up in the Commons demanding the scrapping of Trident?... Agreed which makes the majority of the parties view that targeting soft Tory voters is the way forward daft

the_burger
It's good that neoliberal politics is being challenged. In Greece Scotland (the wider yes movement as opposed to the snp) Spain and now seemingly in England. Can only be a good thing imo.
northernscum
Are the rest of the UK Labour party leadership candidates planning to visit this northern most enclave of the isles? Or have they written us off?

buckielugger
Well I'm a big SNP supporter especially with Nicola in charge. ..but equally as an ex labour party member (in fact winning elections as a labour candidate...) I would be thrilled if Corbyn wins. The person who said the next election could be all about the voters who simply don't vote is spot on. Corbyn might not attract current tory voters as Blair and his ilk have always sought to do...and therein lies Corbyn's appeal. Those are NOT the people Labour should be going after. It's the millions of disaffected ordinary people who are Labour's only hope for a continued future as a major political party. And Corbyn and his policies that could just achieve that goal. Alex and Nicola have shown that it works in Scotland. Now Jeremy could just possibly make it work in England.
