adamntg
Andy McLaren? Charlie Miller? Think John O'Neil got one cap as well, possibly in that same friendly v Poland that Charlie Miller played in.
giblet
that game in Big Dog line up. Scott Gemmill still couldnt get a game! Scotland: Sullivan, Boyd, Dailly, Davidson, Nicholson, Cameron, Rae, Charlie Miller, O'Neil, Booth, Dodds. Subs: Douglas, Caldwell, Weir, Gemmill, McLaren, Kenny Miller, Crawford. ErsatzThistle
Noticed some of these one cap players got their chance when many senior players couldn't be arsed turning up for the friendlies against Japan in 2009, the Faroes in 2010 and Luxembourg in 2012. Should have just had a training camp and never played those games anyway. Fair play to the lads that did turn up. Billy Stark defined stupidity in that friendly against Luxembourg by only using three subs (two of which were brought on in the last ten minutes) when he had six available. In the last twenty minutes the players got tired and Luxembourg came close a couple of times near the end to getting an equaliser. What fecking dimwit Stark was. John_B81
Stephen Glass is a one-cap wonder - sub against Faroes in 1998 Also, the late Phil O'Donnell. Edited February 16, 2015 by John_B81

Daveyram
He left Falkirk - whom he was playing with when he got capped - to sign for Hearts. It was the football equivalent of chucking Scarlett Johansson to shack up with Nora Batty. No wonder he never got capped again. He then went to Killie and is now at Ross County. Yep sure he is gutted with his Scottish cup winning medal and the chance to play in Europe.

Can't take that away from him. Statistically the best manager we have ever had.

Toepoke
Peter Canero v Denmark 2004 away ? Watched that one in The Quaich in Shawlands. When Canero came on this previously silent barfly spontaneously yelled out "WHO THE F**K IS THAT???"

wanderer
What happened to Peter Canero? He played one season in the MLS then disappeared. IIRC He had a injury problem throughout his career that forced him to retire in the end.
adamntg
An injury problem and a pishness problem. The combination was toxic.

What a shambles that tour was. Can't believe the SFA awarded official caps for the game against the Hong Kong League XI. That was where a young Faddy got pished and missed his flight home didn't he ? Vogts said that the only positive moment of the tour was Tommy Burns cheering everyone up with a sing song in a karaoke bar.
