min
The Murray brothers are competing against each other for the first time at tour level in the men's doubles at The Rogers Cup. Probably have to fancy Jamie and his partner Peers to go through as they are doubles specialists after all. Would be a good one to watch. Surprising that they've never met before. I tried to check this stat last week as they were scheduled to meet in Washington, but both had early exits. Should be interesting to watch, particularly as Leander Paes is partnering Andy and they had a fairly easy first round match. Looking at the singles draw, Andy's potential route to the title: R32 - Robredo R16 - Monfils QF - Cilic SF - Nishikori (or Nadal if he somehow finds his hard court form!) F - Djokovic

dezmondo
Why are so many of the top players playing doubles this week?
ironbrew
Tournament seems to alternate between Montreal and Toronto (ladies in Toronto this year men in Montreal). Interestingly on Andy`s official website it says it`s in Toronto this year. Hard to say how he`ll do after last week though a lot of other top players also lost early. ironbrew
Why are so many of the top players playing doubles this week? Nadal plays in quite a few doubles tournaments and Andy M too. Usually lose in first match so it`s just to get some match practice before singles begins.
min
Why are so many of the top players playing doubles this week? Andy tends to play doubles when the tour moves to a new surface to aid the transition: Munich (clay), Queen's (grass), Washington (hard). There may also be the temptation to enter the doubles at Masters tournaments as they're fairly lucrative. However, feel a bit sorry for the genuine doubles players who need the cash more and must get bumped to make way for the top singles players. With the rain delays so far in Montreal, scheduling could now be a problem. Andy could now have to play two matches on at least two different days. dezmondo
I see Nick kyrgios is in more bother. This coming after his petulance at Wimbledon then the recent Davis Cup tie where he shouted out mid match he didn't want to be there. Absolute knob! Parklife
Stan should have smashed him over head with his racket, I believe he had a word with him in the locker room. Kyrgios needs to sort himself out. He's got great ability and flair. There's only so long you can get away with being unprofessional and arsehole. min
Djokovic through to the final - surprise surprise. A few hours until Andy is due on court for his semi against Nishikori. Also read that Andy has now qualified for the tour finals - a great achievement considering the real struggle he had to qualify last year.

After 25 months and 8 straight defeats against him, this could be the day he beats Djokovic. Here's hoping!!!

biffer
Epic fifth game in the final set. Eleven Deuces, six break points for Djokovic, but Murray holds. Don't think there's another player in the world who could have resisted Djokovic in that game.
