redstevie007
Been saying that since the moment he pulled on a Scotland shirt. Unfortunately, full-back's not a position we're particularly blessed with talent in. If only we could find another Robertson.
Hertsscot
In fairness people have been saying how good he's been last couple of games
Kittymeister
If only we could find another Robertson. Give Callum Paterson another year and we might have two good young full backs.

Barney Rubble
In fairness people have been saying how good he's been last couple of games Also in fairness I've been saying for years he should never have been near a Scotland squad. As for the last couple of games, better than usual, but the second Polish goal was directly attributable to his miskick.
Paulo2576
What a lot of shite. There's no scapegoat here, everyone was a failure tonight.

I haven't seen much of him but have heard good things. I'd like to see him move clubs at the earliest opportunity though.

Ok a couple of positives there, all of which I'm delighted about, but the whole team who did the business on Friday, to a man, we're simply outclassed. deso1
I don't think whittaker should be blamed, he was given the ball in some shockin positions etc, and at least tried to play. He is only our 2nd or 3rd choice r.back

tartansmarf
Sorry but yes we played poorly, but once again Whittaker was caught out of position so many times it's unbelievable!
King Of Paisley
The minute we lose and a witchhunt starts. Not Whittaker's greatest fan by any stretch, but not forgetting his performances against Poland and ROI. You win as a team, you lose as a team. Could say everyone had an off night tonight. But given where we have come from since Strachan took over, will simply put this down to a bad night at the office.

Agreed, he had plenty poor moments, like the rest of them, just don't think he should be the one thrown to the wolves over a poor performance. Young Robertson has at leads as many lapses tonight. Paulo2576
Well... maybe it was a matter of not being able to raise the game twice in a week... Looked that way. Credit to the opposition though, they played very well.
redstevie007
will simply put this down to a bad night at the office. Exactly. Remember the '99 play-off? They murdered us at Hampden, yet we should at least have taken it to extra time at Wembley. The point being that we haven't suddenly returned to being shite after losing a friendly. If you're only as good as your last match then we couldn't have a much better one coming up to put it right.
King Of Paisley
Redstevie - perhaps tonight was a wee bit of a reality check given the hype of the performances against Germany, Poland and the ROI. Will be a boot up the arse and if any complacency and cockiness crept in after the Ireland game crept in then this is the wake up call. Like you said, perfect opportunity against Gibraltar to get tonight out the system and take out our frustration on them.

Maradona10
This topic is nonsense. Maybe he didn't play as well as he has in the previous 2 games but half the team weren't on their game tonight, so why is Whitikar singled out? This was a simple case of a team mainly made up of Championship level players who were a little battle weary physically and mentally from the tough Ireland game playing against a side made up of Champions League players who'd had a mediocre match v Slovenia and were right up for this one. You could see that from their tremendous workrate.
