andreimack
Explosion in the sky - With Tired Eyes, Tired Minds, Tired Souls, We SleptI'll give it a look on Spotify Had a listen, musically very accomplished but not my cup of tea, I don't really like instrumentals although it did have my foot tapping throughout. silverbear
Didn't listen to any music today, but then I started watching The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou: Nice one Donny.I've just had to drive down to Madrid from Sheffield for work - (medical equipment which was too expensive & fragile to send by plane). Just before I left I heard a close friend had died. He was a big Devo fan & Satisfaction will probably be played at his funeral. It was a long drive & too much time to think especially about poor Mick. He was from Snaith - a place you'll no doubt know & his local had the best jukebox I think I've ever come across. Punters used to buy the records & the landlady paid them, then when replaced, they in turn were sold to punters. Simples.

DonnyTJS
Sorry about your mate, SB. I saw Devo at the City Hall back in the day - opened with a short film featuring Ian Dury. Aye, I've drunk in Snaith a few times, dunno which pub that would've been though. Good luck with the drive home - and watch the speed bumps. DonnyTJS
Raw Power is a cracking album. Even the fact that Bono likes the Stooges can't put me off them. Yup, the Bono Endorsement Factor is a major hurdle that one has to overcome if one is to appreciate the value of a number of things. Still, having achieved it, the 'despite' rather than 'because of' aspect gives our appreciation extra value. Besides which I'd bought Raw Power (and seen the Ig) before Bono had chosen his silly name, nevermind achieved secular canonization. I pity the young. Best song so far today?
