Orraloon
They now think that the lander bounced twice after impact and ended up about a kilometre away from the original touchdown site. It's also not fully upright. They think it's not going to get as much sunlight as originally planned. About 1.5 hours a day instead of 6. This will have an impact on battery charging so might restrict the amount and the rate of data they get back, Still early days though and a bit of educated guesswork going on. At least it stayed on they comet. They have already got loads of data and will continue to get loads more. They might not get as much as they hoped for. Still early days though. Woooft It could provide proof of how we came to exist See that doesn't interest me at all. We are here, we live and we die. I don't get the fascination with space. Sure its increadible how big it all is but I really couldn't care less what its like on a commet, or the moon etc.

For me it'd be like sitting in a room with windows and never looking outside. Plato goes on about it with his cave allegory somewhat although it's more the dynamic between those who have looked and those who haven;t. If everyone took the same attitude we'd still be sitting in caves hitting each other with rocks. Edited November 16, 2014 by biffer
