Totally agree with you on this , I cannot understand why any political party would want to put someone forward to be on this programme, especially the SNP who appear to get snipped at from all sides.

I reckon people are being overly paranoid.  A Dundonian on my Facebook posted last night that there wasn't a real Dundonian in the audience only to be told by a number of his friends that they were in the audience or knew someone who was.

As for plants, I was in the audience of a Question Time during the Indy Ref campaign, I was sat next to an SNP councillor from Kilmarnock, and a couple of rows in front of Richie Venton.  Where they plants?  Of course not, they were affiliates of parties who applied to be on like everyone else.

When even David Coburn is complaining about the audience being loaded you might think there was something up.

I do think when asking a question party affiliates in the audience should have to introduce themselves though i.e

"I'm Colin Fox, I'm co convenor of the Scottish Socialist Party and I believe Socialism is possible in a capitalist led society".

or

"I'm Ruth Davidson, leader of the Scottish Conservatives and reasonably likeable for a Tory".

or 

"I'm John Swinney.  I'm Deputy First Minister and I eat the souls of children".

The story and photos show 2 members of the audience one who was to stand in Dundee as candidate for Westmonster,the other out on the streets wearing his Labour colours. Why dont you like Wings? The wings article covers what has been written elsewhere in this thread.  That two failed labour candidates in last years GE popped up as ordinary members of the public, including one of the prepared questions which are pre-submitted and are supposed to be vetted.  You don't think there's anything suspicious about that?

That was a blood pressure raising stitch up.  The audience was not remotely representative of Scotland as a whole or of Dundee in particular.  The questions could mainly have been replaced with "Do you agree that the SNP are bad?"  The often-told lie that an independence referendum was a once in a generation or once in a lifetime event was repeated unchallenged.  If Morton won the Scottish Cup next year I might say it was a once in a lifetime event; that doesn't mean they shouldn't enter the competition for another 70 years.  That was the sense in which Salmond referred to it as once in a lifetime - it might not happen again; he didn't say it couldn't or shouldn't.

The whole programme was set up as propaganda.  Swinney was never allowed to speak unheckled or uninterrupted.  That didn't happen to the others.  As for that vile Labour candidate, how good would it be if Swinney had said to her "Aren't you a former Labour candidate who referred to Yes voters as Nazis?".  Swinney is too mild - that shyte about the Queen and Brexit, he should have pointed out that there is precedent for the queen making political remarks as she did before the referendum; instead he cam out with some anodyne tripe about how she was just saying that people should think carefully before voting.  si why invite reporters to be within earshot of an allegedly private conversation.  If Swinney doesn't understand what went on there, he's pretty naive, so why not call them out for it instead of saying bland niceties about the queen?  We need some Rottweilers on these shows.

From watching them in the Commons, Westminster Hall and Select Committee's - Joanna Cherry QC, Stewart McDonald, Alison Thewliss, Callum Kerr, Drew Hendry, Martin Docherty, Ian Blackford or Dr Philippa Whitford should be put up for Question Time soon by the SNP. All the aforementioned take no nonsense, fight fire with fire and make themselves heard.

No, I don't find anything suspicious about that. Political programmes tend to attract politically interested people... Hence why I shared an audience with Richie Venton, an SNP councillor and many other recognisable faces.
