Dave78
Absolutely. Someone in the Labour party said that the voters had let them down, think it was after the Holyrood 2011 election, with no hint of irony. That was a certain Katy Clark.... Orraloon
No it wasn't... Is that not her like? Some other labour folk were saying it more blatantly than that but what she said there was basically the same. "Scotland could let Labour down" Naw hen it's the other way round. thplinth
That was a certain Katy Clark.... "One of the worries I have at the moment is that it could be Scotland that let's us down at the GE..." If Scotland is letting 'Us' down then it does make you wonder who 'Us' are? Conservatives did not win the election Labour lost it. Cameron is weak and the coalition was there for the taking after all this austerity shite while bailing out criminal bankers. Miliband was an unelectable freak show and the fact you idiots appointed him leader was an act of public suicide years in the making. (His scary brother would have been a Blair II, jumping into every neocon war going.)
wwta2007.com
Lord McConnell of Shiskine-and-all-points-North-of-that-ilk has been getting quite a lot of air-time on scrapping "The Vow/Smith Commission". This is surely evidence that this Labour inspired document was nothing more than a con ? If that is so, does it call into question the Referendum result as it was directly influenced by this shady scam ? It was obvious to Yessers at the time that the The Vow etc etc was extremely questionable in relation to the Unionists had specifically excluded a three-question Referendum. Labour/Tories had categorically insisted 18/9 was a Yes/No issue but nevertheless introduced the third question/devo/Vow only after it looked like Yes would win. Does this go beyond "that's no' fair !!!" ? Scotland can't cash in "The Vow". It was "signed" by three individual Unionist leaders, two of whom no longer have any influence on their respective parties. No party approval, no devo-max etc. Labours McConnell has confirmed this. Why didn't he and his party say so before Thursday 18th Sept ? Does this seriously call into question the Referendum result ? I suspect the answer is "we are where we are" and that Labour were brought to account on 7/5, jog on. So what ? McConnell, Brown, Murphy, and every Brit red-rosette wearing Labour monkey since the 1980's have chosen their place in Scotland's story. Hell mend the selfish bstds. Keir Hardie formed the Independent Labour Party in 1893. Modern Scots "labour"/socialists should re-form it in order to secure our Independence. RenfrewBlue
We took the piss out of her a lot for it... A lot!IMO it shows the complete lack of regard the Labour party has for the people it's supposed to represent. Is it any wonder they're virtually extinct? Now with Murphy still in charge it's likely that things will get even worse for them. The Scottish elections in 2016 can't come quickly enough. Scunnered
Plus in another years time more young uns voting for the first time in an election and probably snp. One can hope not. One can hope that the working class majority will rally behind a pro Independence Party who have the working classes interests at hand. Deeklipse
Incidentally, one of the founders of the Scottish Labour Party, Robert Bontine Cunningham Grahame, went on to found the SNP. Sorry for my pedantry but as my wife is his great great great niece (I think) I must correct your spelling…Cunninghame Graham was her maiden name! exile
I think I saw somewhere (can't find it now) about the "Short" money the parties get for running their parliamentary affairs.... that Scottish Labour wouldn't suffer too much because the money is handily pooled at the UK level... like any branch office they'll get a share of the Labour UK allocation which only went down by a modest amount not wipeout proportions. UPROAR
trooooo burt compared to the SNP's new cash influx both Lab and Lib will feel they are falling well behind where they were. Amazing new dynamic..

stocky
The Labour party position can be compared to Rangers.. a top league team winning all the time ,,, but suddenly finds itself in the bottom league due to its own incompetence... Can Labour rise tho... or will they be more of a Third Lanark....
giblet
seeing the depressing list of potential Labour leaders at UK level tells me they will be unelectable for a considerable time. Destined for years of Tory rule if we dont get ourselves out of jail.
