  3. I remember that game it was u23 and the full Scotland were team were in the WestStand watching. Our ace centre forward, Ian Fallis, was through one on one wae the young Scotland goalie......everybody held their breath thinking "Suhin bads gaunnae happen"........and right on cue he did wan o they step oan the ba by mistake moves and sprang aff it ontae his puss. We didnae laugh cos we were sooooo embarrassed. Fallis - Legend (RIP)
  4. Locke worse than Jim Clunie. FFS. That really sums "Lockey" up.
  5. Naw. It isnae. My youngest lad works in the North Sea oil industry. He lived/worked in London at his head office for a couple of years. He quite enjoyed it for eating out/kicking place for young folk etc etc. He now works 2 weeks on/3 off. He decided he wanted to try living in Berlin for most of his time off rather than London. He says there is absolutely no comparison as Berlin is far better - especially for quality/value of rented accommodation. Been across for a long weekend recently(as well as previous Tartan Army visits gaun via Berlin) and have to agree . Public transport is much cheaper/cleaner. Micro-breweries everywhere. Every nationality under the sun has cafes/restaurants/bars in the city. The place is chilled oot tae fck compared to so much of London/Londoners who still think its the centre of a fckn Empire. Berlin hammers London particularly when applied to the fitba. Went to see Union Berlin and was a great all day experience. We both loved the terracing, excellent & affordable beer and food. Headn back to visit him soon to take in two home games at Hertha & Union. Cannae wait. Visit London ? Only if paid.

  7. Saw it last night at the Limegrove flics in Holetown, Barbados. Surreal. Fantastic. The 3D effects combined wae the rum was wonderful. Lots of cheering when "familiar" faces popped up wae most applause at the Jedi mind-trick (!) Loved it. Will watch it again in the pictures when we're hame. Saw the first movie in freezin Dundee in 78. The whole cinematic difference is measured in Light Years.
  8. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/politics/constituencies/S14000051 Carmichael only won in May 2015 by 817 votes. Would they have been minded NOT to vote for him if they knew he'd organised Frenchgate ? If only 450 of them had voted SNP he'd have lost. Also, it's understood the SNP were actually ahead in Shetland but "lost" Orkney. As I've said before, the two guys who'll be most raging at Carmichael's Jack Bstd lying behaviour are Tavish SCott & Liam McArthur. Undoubtedly, they'll also be on the receiving end of an anti-Libdum backlash in May 216. Also, did MUNDELL know/approve ?
  9. OK, fair one. 57 of 59 Scots MP's voted against bombing Syria. Do you agree that, within a Scots political perspective, the bombing is undemocratic ?
  10. Dunno. The point was Dail Eirann declared UDI in 1919.
  11. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_Declaration_of_Independence "For if, you know, your history " :-)
  12. OK. So what is actually stopping the pro-indy parties for going from self=government ? The UN Charter, Chapter 1 Principles & Purposes ,Article 1, "The purposes of the UN are: To develop friendly relations among nations based on respect for the principle of equal rights and self-determination of all peoples." No mention of a requirement for a Referendum. Catalonia is going for UDI in December in spite of Madrid's opposition. For the life on me I don't know why we aren't doing the same. Feart we lose ??? Hope over fear. Aain. And again. And again.
  13. Nicola says pro-Independence must show 60% consistently in the polls before we go for Indy2. We have been achieving this since the May General Election. So, why are we waiting and what are the consequences if we miss the bus? The SNP answer is the polling support would disappear in the event of an absence of the Gold-Standard-Rolls-Royce referendum that we “need” in order to assert our self-determination. Meantime Westminster vote to renew Trident whilst laughing at the impotence of our 56 SNP MP’s. Trident clearly deters Daesh. NOT. Concurrently, Westminster scheme to support NATO in their move to commit to boots-on-the-ground war in the Middle East using NATO Article 5 as a result of the Daesh attacks on France ; Article 5 determines attack one NATO country you attack them all. France has already stated the attack was “la guerre” so UK is obliged to join in. Does austerity get worse if we have to pay for “la guerre”? Mais, oui, mes petits-chouxs. So while we wait here are a few things to consider and discuss. http://scotgoespop.blogspot.co.uk/2015/11/snp-hold-30-point-lead-in-new-ipsos.html Averaging James Kelly’s “poll of polls” (based on the LATEST polls from five companies) Constituency/Regional figures show SNP on 50% + Greens on 7%. Additionally, at least 17 polls since May GE show an average SNP 52%, Greens 8%, RISE/SSP 3%, totalling 63%. For the sake of argument, pro-Indy at 57% + 63% average is 60%. Let’s reverse the logic. Focus on the $hit performance of the Enema. Labour 21%, Tory 15%, Libdem 5%, UKIP 2%, totalling 43%. Are they likely to improve in Scotland in the few months left before Holyrood 2016? Can anyone honestly see them improving beyond 45%? Labour are currently indulging in vicious foreplay before blood on the walls of the Regional List decision room. None of them want to stand as a Constituency candidate evidenced by the Glaswegian public-school Hutchie Grammar Socialist Sarwar making his play this week or Rowley’s U-turn to get on the List (Deputy Branch Leader BTW !) Labour voted against allowing family credit to be devolved. WTF is their position on Trident? Labour will be fortunate to take 20% in May 2016. They are the STRONGEST Loyalist party yet they are in complete tatters. SNP hold 95% of Westminster seats. Based on the above figures Pro-Indy parties may take 80 MSP seats of 131, or minimum 60% of seats. UDI is very unlikely to be declared in May 2016. Why the fvk not ? “Why are we waiting”? Still we’ve got The Trump to look forward to as US President with Osborne or Boris as PM……………..can anyone hear the skirl of the pipes and the rattle o’ the drum as we’re told what bonnie fichters we are for the Westminster/DC led NATO Empire………………tick, tock, tick, tock……………. UDI anyone?
  14. Like most things London gets its D&G (Direction & Guidance) from USA (did ye see whit ah did there ?) Militarism is endemic in America. Veterans this, Hero's that....Fly the Flag. When a state puts its military on such a pedestal it becomes more difficult for the public to criticise illegal wars and the criminal waste of service peoples lives. We know Americans don't do irony....it's an incredibly cynical governmental method of persuading Joe Public not to criticise it's soldiers because it (mindfvck-wise) may be seen as being disloyal towards the "policy" of Country & Flag (American Military-Industrial-Complex MIC). "War is Good Business. Invest Your Sons" Blair & Brown embraced the militarisation of our society using USA as the role model. It's no coincidence Armed Forces Day (AFD) and Remembrance Day were implemented as "useful" cynical Loyalist propaganda vehicles in London Labours time in government: - 1) Makes it more difficult to criticise the illegal war in Iraq 2003. 2) "Useful" Britfest bollox in the run up to our Independence Referendum (e.g. Stirling AFD (June 2014) was planned to co-incide with Bannockburn 2014 etc etc. The Army in Scotland were horrified at this BTW - categorically it was politically motivated) Anyone who's served in the military, generally, mark the passing of our own, together. Armistice wasn't a particularly public gig. An 1100hrs wet, cauld Sunday November morning wasn't really conducive to bringing out the crowds..... it always somehow seemed fitting to remember an event that took place on 11 Nov 1918. Nae pomp or ceremony. Jist remembering oor ain. AFD has become a June/summer event. Better crowds, ye see. "Armistice" used to be a church parade, laying of wreaths (civic organisations, Old Comrades, cadet organisations & military) then lunch/drinks. In the ones I've been involved in (Ayr,Kilmarnok, Glasgow & Aberdeen) any ex-servicemen and immediate families were usually welcome to join the Regulars and Reservists at wherever the gig was being held. The public were normally welcome at their respective war memorials/cenotaphs. Aberdeen have always had a very strong Scots Guards, Parachute Regiment & Gordon Highlanders Associations, for example. Red berets, Guards berets and Glengarries everywhere. These lads ken where tae find us each other that particular annual Sunday, for example. Medals are for wearing, not for being kept in an auld drawer. So, the "Old &Bold" get thegither, pull up a few sandbags and swing the lantern.....as they should. HLI are very strong in Glasgow as are RSF in Ayr as are RHF in baith toons. Its' braw. Relatives of the "Fallen" are entitled to wear their family members medals. Poignant disnae begin tae describe Auld Dears standing chittering in the rain but absolutely very determined tae be there.... The "Remembrance" and AFD circus today is cynical exploitative government Billy Brit pi$h. I detest what its become. RIP Fusilier Russell Beeston, Fusilier Jason Smith, Sgt Gus Millar, Capt Walter Barrie & PO Stefan Morisette.
  15. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=newsarchive&sid=ak1yj7PHWcp4 Deutsche Bank & RBS were also heavily involved in the massive ENRON fraud in America. Corporate Governance ? Is that right, aye ? TTIP coming to a country near you.........
  16. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-people-versus-carmichael#/updates The Kirkwall team are needing some cash support to see them through against the liar Carmichael. Please help them by contributing what you can. Thanks.
  17. Thought Scotland were immense yesterday. Does rugby have dodgy refs same as fitba ? Looked like it yesterday. Does rugby have "pressure" on officials from tournament sponsors same as fitba ? Dunno. However, with 5 minutes to go the chat was something like "The sponsors would farther rather a big country like Australia to go through than a wee population like Scotlands to go through"..........Ah FVVVCCKKK !!!!
  18. http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/franco-captures-barcelona “ During the Spanish Civil War, Barcelona, the Republican capital of Spain, fell to the Fascist Nationalist forces of Franco in Jan 1939. During the first five years of the republic from 1931, organized labor and leftist radicals forced widespread liberal reforms as independence-minded Spanish regions such as Catalonia and the Basque provinces achieved virtual autonomy. The landed aristocracy, the church, and a large military clique increasingly employed violence in their opposition. July 1936, General Francisco Franco led a right-wing army revolt in Morocco, which prompted the division of Spain into two key camps: the Nationalists and the Republicans. Franco’s Nationalist forces rapidly overran much of the Republican-controlled areas in central and northern Spain, and Catalonia became a key Republican stronghold. During 1937, Franco unified the Nationalist forces under the command of the Falange, Spain’s fascist party, while the Republicans fell under the sway of the communists. Germany and Italy aided Franco with an abundance of planes, tanks, and arms, while the Soviet Union aided the Republican side. [barcelona was heavily bombed in Mar 1938 by fascist aircraft causing 3,000+ casualties] In June 1938, the Nationalists drove to the Mediterranean Sea and cut the Republicans’ territory in two. Later in the year, Franco mounted a major offensive against Catalonia. In January 1939, its capital, Barcelona, was captured, and soon after the rest of Catalonia fell. With their cause all but lost, the Republicans attempted to negotiate a peace, but Franco refused.. Up to a million lives were lost in the conflict, the most devastating in Spanish history.” So what ? Catalunya and the Basques were severely crapped on by Franco’s fascists during the Civil War and up to Franco’s death in 1973. Therefore, all of this anti-Madrid sentiment is within living memory. The current President of the Spanish govt is Rajoy who was spawned from a right-wing, Jesuit background stereotypical of the Franco black times. His Spanish Nationalist party (PP) is pretty similar to Dave (Pig-Fckr) Cameron’s Brit Nat Tories whilst both parties specialise in anti-self-determination rhetoric and propaganda. Rajoy’s politics were formed by the right-wing Peoples Alliance, set up by Franco supporters. ETA assassinated Franco’s anointed successor, Blanco, in 1973. This led to King Juan Carlos being head of state by 1975. Rajoy refuses to deal with ETA. In fact, Rajoy was one of the first to blame ETA for the Madrid bombings in 2004 – it was Al Qaeda…. Clearly there is no love lost between Madrid and Barcelona/Bilbao. They have a different dimension dividing them, based on fascist rule, which we fortunately didn’t. I think it’s one major reason why Catalunya have an edge to their struggle against an aggressive Madrid that compels them to tell a reactionary Rajoy to fck right off. I hope they succeed. Jock Cunningham and George Aitken would probably agree. They were Scots commanders in the International Brigade who fought against Franco’s scum.
  19. http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2015/09/catalonia-separatists-lead-exit-polls-150927190807958.html Catalunya has shown how these things should be done. People Power. Nae 60% pi$h. Nae Referendum Pi$h. Jist People Power. Respecte ! Catalunya !
