Rossy
We should be going to Ireland looking for a win, and fear we might have to if we want to finish first or second I agree. If Ireland lose tonight, we can put them on the edge of being knocked out by winning in Dublin.
fringo
Can't believe people would have Robbie Keane in our side. Firstly can't play up front on his own. Secondly he's been on the wane for at least 5 years. There's a good reason why all the Ireland fans we spoke to before the game last year were delighted to see him benched. He's better than any striker Scotland have had for at least 20 years ?
Jaggy Jim
Anyone know which players could get banned for our game if they get booked tonight? Don't think any of the Irish players are on 2 bookings.
ErsatzThistle
Not saying for 1 sec I think there team is better than ours. Just got a lot of good players. Maybe their system just isn't right. Your right. Not saying all these players would automatically start but if they were Scottish but would certainly get in the match day squad: Ciaran Clark, Marc Wilson and Richard Keogh would be good options for our defence. John O'Shea may be getting on a bit, but he's still capable of playing at the highest level. Séamus Coleman over Hutton is a no brainer. James McCarthy and Robbie Brady (better in midfield than at left back) would be good competition for the midfield. Shane Long would be great up front if he had a player like Steven Naismith alongside him. We don't exactly have a team full of world beaters ourselves. ParisInAKilt
We have to make sure we dont lose in Dublin - or we could be looking at 4th. If poland win here 13points at half-way stage, having played just two games at home is mighty impressive. That's the game though, we can't go there looking for a point. We're good enough to win. It is but they've got to go to Germany and us. Last team to beat poland? Us last year
thewelk
The Irish hate us? Love us!
thewelk
A friend of mine just posted a few pre-match photos from the aviva on facebook and there's one with 9 different flares in the wee poland end all burning at the same time. Are flares just tolerated by UEFA these days? Is it something we should be considering for the TA??

It is but they've got to go to Germany and us. Last team to beat poland? Us last year Dont disagree with any of that. But Ireland do have an easier couple of games in September than us. Poland have Gibraltar in June - we are going to be playing catch-up regardless The other three teams have won in Georgia - would be great to have a buffer over Ireland before that game

If poland win tonight they couldn't have asked a better start and are still on 3 points clear
Caledonian Craig
Would say Poland's strength are in the midfield and attack. The defence though doesn't look great at set pieces and shaky when pressurised.

Toepoke
Looks like plenty of Poles in the home end, especially near the segregation barrier. I expect the same at Hampden later in the year...
Dodger
He's better than any striker Scotland have had for at least 20 years ? If you're talking Robbie Keane circa 2005 then yes. Now though? No danger.

fringo
If you're talking Robbie Keane circa 2005 then yes. Now though? No danger. Certainly fading but I'd still have him as first pick striker if he were Scottish.
Ormond
Is this in danger of turning into one of those "who would get into our team" again threads? Bloody done before hunners o' times and it's boring. Guys who get their fitba' knowledge from Championship Manager. Caledonian Craig
Poland look rattled when put under pressure. Definitely, their strength is midfield and attack.
