  1. Agree with this. McGregor has been great for us but if Christie was to come in for him, I don't think that's a big drop in quality.
  2. Not sure there is. Dyche plays a back 4 and clearly doesn't trust Patterson to play right back in a 4. Hopefully either Dyche gets the sack or Patterson gets a move in the summer as I can't see anything changing as long as they're both at the club.
  3. Patterson continues to get splinters in his backside on the Everton bench
  4. Where did you see that Hickey will be back in the next few weeks? Hope you're right but last I saw their manager was saying he wasn't sure if he'd play again this season. As for Patterson, it's clear that Dyche doesn't trust him as right back in a 4. Saw a game recently where their right back had to come off injured and Patterson still didn't get off the bench. Only football I can see him getting is if they're chasing a game with 20 minutes to go.
  5. Nathan Patterson's situation is a concern, especially with Hickey potentially out for the season. Looks like Patterson is either 3rd or 4th choice right back for Everton. Barring an injury crisis or Dyche getting the sack, it's likely that he'll come into the Euros having barely kicked a ball for 6 months. Right wing back has quickly from a position in which we were spoilt for choice to one that we could be struggling.
  6. Mckenna not in the squad despite the change of manager. If nothing changes, he's going to need a move in January to make the Euros squad.
  7. Given this situation, presumably it's unlikely you'd be able to attend the Euros anyway?
  8. He'd definitely played more than Doak has this season. I hope Doak comes good but there's no way he's making the squad unless he's playing more often than once every 3 months.
  9. Ireland did it under Jack Charlton. Niall Quinn was their 3rd keeper for a World Cup (1990 I think). It's a nonsense rule anyway. Should be up to the manager to decide how many keepers they take.
  10. Not sure why people are convinced that Doak will be in the squad. Only way I can see it happening is if he goes on loan somewhere and does well or if Liverpool have an injury crisis. As if stands, we're in the middle of October and I think he's started one game? He's going to need to start playing more regularly to make the squad.

Assume the whole squad flew back to Scotland straight after the game and will travel to France on Monday?
  12. There is no chance we're playing Hickey in the back 3 tomorrow. He'll be playing on the right, whether that's part of a back 4 or a back 5.
  13. Don't see how you can argue with what he said. We played great against Spain but we got Spain at a time when their new manager was working out his best team. Only 2 of the starting line up against us started their last 2 games. Suspect it'll be very different when we play them next month.
  14. Suggests that he's now fourth choice left back there. Essential that he gets a move out of there this month.
  15. Also Barkley has got an awful injury record. However given that campbell wasn't first choice towards the end of last season, I suspect he won't be seeing much action this season.
  16. I agree that there's no case for criticising any of Clarke's decisions. I did think it was a strange decision to bring on Christie rather than Ferguson for the last few minutes against Georgia though.
  17. Be surprised if this isn't the team. Only doubt is whether he'll swap Porteous and Hendry around in the back 3.
  18. Think the right back is actually a very mediocre centre half. As long as Dyche is there and as long as he's playing a back 4, I don't see Patterson getting into that team.
  19. That would be a very strange signing. I'm a fan of Hickey but he's a long way off that level.
  20. Saw that Eriksen is fit again though. Going to be tough to keep a place in that midfield.
  21. QPR on an awful run and looking like a team that's heading down. Don't love the idea of our second choice striker playing in league 1. Dykes' scoring record in the championship unlikely to have teams queueing up to sign him if they do go down as well.
  22. I hope I'm wrong. However Patterson is clearly fit enough to at least be on the bench but it isn't happening. Dyche also seems like the type of manager that won't be keen on playing a young, attacking full back when the team is battling relegation.
  23. Not even making the bench last night suggests that Dyche isn't keen on using him for the rest of the season at least.
  24. He's been playing on the right since he got back in the Villa team. Same position he played for us against Cyprus and Spain.
