PHATBOY_AK47
My mother says a would be worse than Stallin!!! Second language would be compulsory. National Service also compulsory. For 16 to 20 year olds. Every service that was privatized, brought back into public service..

Charlie Endell
1. Nationalise the railways and extend the Borders Railway from Tweedbank to Hawick. 2. May it illegal to park with two wheels up on the pavement - pavements are for pedestrians. 3. Heftier penalties for litter louts.

Introduce a maximum wage. Nobody needs more than £250k a year

exile
1. Tax screening of external sports shown in Scotland (match of the day, cricket bulletins on news, etc) and use it to subsidise grasroots sport in Scotland. 2. Extend and localise logic of TV licensing to all broadcast media where there would be a local designated public service broadcaster e.g. FifeBC TV, Grampian internet news, etc. even if you don't watch/listen to them. 3. Localise constitutional democracy, by bringing a local House of Lords to every town hall/local council, and have a locally elected royal family to live in nearest local royal residence etc.

Charlie Endell
Number 2 most streets wouldn't have enough space for one car to go through the middle then. I definitely wouldn't say "most streets". There's a main road near me where folk do it, despite having parking / garages behind their houses (which they are clearly too lazy to use). It's utterly selfish as it makes it difficult for pavement users with prams or in wheelchairs (especially when wheelie bins are thrown in as an extra obstacle). iainmac1
Ensuring all children regardless of background got at least one good meal a day between the ages of 4-16 in my opinion would not be a waste of money. Of course it's just an opinion i think it would be a good idea. I can understand children from certain backgrounds receiving free school meals because of price and also getting a cooked meal but that happens already. The quality of the meals are also not great though. Children from well off families shouldn't really be getting their meals for free if they can pay for them I feel. The money being spent on it would be far more beneficial being used on resources etc. For me I can afford to pay for my kids meals when they go to school but will take advantage of the free meals until they reach primary 4. French system - can only park on one side of the street. Which side alternates by day. Cue lots of people diving out last thing at night switching over. I'm not thinking in terms of capitalism and cost. I'm thinking in terms of nutrition establishing routine and social interaction at a young age. I'm not thinking about the childs parents and their income. Rich people pay taxes which pay for the school anyway. Just my own ideas for what i would do. Or one of them. It's utterly selfish as it makes it difficult for pavement users with prams or in wheelchairs (especially when wheelie bins are thrown in as an extra obstacle). Each street differs but in estates there is no option but to park on the pavement, if people have more than one car they are a crewed a lot of the timw. Main roads vary and other streets vary but I don't see the problem with parking half on the pavement if its not causing a blockage. French system - can only park on one side of the street. Which side alternates by day. Cue lots of people diving out last thing at night switching over. Seems pointless why not just one side all the time. Charlie Endell
Personally, I wouldn't buy a property where I was forced to park with at least two wheels up on the pavement. From a motorist's point of view (the least important) I'd be concerned about people damaging my car as they squeezed past. I hate inconsiderate parking. Kirk
No all propertys come with a driveway/garage and not everyone can afford a house or to build a garage etc. We extended our drive to fit 3 cars, some of our neighbours have extended too but some haven't, doesn't mean they are inconsiderate. We have multiple laybys too but still folk have to park on the street. Maybe streets like mine should have a multi story built for them when you are I'm charge?? It's not always as simple as it seems. Don't have to squeeze past if its parked sensibly unless you live somewhere will very small pavements. Also, you're the one that's always moaning about your neighbour clogging up the street with five cars.
