I don't see why some people find it difficult to say that violence by one side killing innocents is wrong and that violence on the other side killing innocents is wrong.

I also find it odd that people who have no difficulty calling one side inhumane/terrorists for what they did have no qualms that the government of a 'civilised/democratic' state should seek a kind of revenge in the form of indiscriminate collective punishment on the other side.

The conflation of Palestine and Hamas has to be one of the biggest things that irks me at the moment - would be like stating the IRA was acting on the behalf of Ireland between the 60s and 90s. The media not understanding the difference between Israel, its people, its government and Semitism is another; Israel does not speak for the whole of Judaism. Many in Israel are critical of their government. People should scrutinise the actions of governments and states.

The attack by Hamas on Israel was absolutely disgusting but so is the indiscriminate bombing of Gaza, I find it strange/unbelievable that Israel didn’t have any intel prior to the Hamas attack. The attack suits an ultra right wing Israeli government during a time when there are large demonstrations against some of the law changes/policies they are trying to force through, my suspicion is the government knew of the attack but let it happen so they could play the victim and retaliate which would make them look strong to the Israeli public and give them extra reasons to force their policies through into law. Maybe I’m just a suspicious cynical dafty 🤔

I agree that Israel knew what was coming. They often boasted not a cat or rat could get out of Gaza without them knowing. 
don’t know if Hamas is an Israeli construct as some believe but certainly would not rule it out .

My wife and I always go for a coffee each morning at a Tim Hortons by our house, there is alot of Middle Eastern people in this area.
