Orraloon
Take it down. You can't have posters at a polling booth Aye you can, I've spent all morning putting them up. Hope the polis aren't looking for me.
Orraloon
Wife's just been in. Come straight out, phoned me asking if it was the top box she should have crossed. overwhelmed by the day, she went on autopilot without reading it It was a very clever masterstroke getting YES as the top box. I knew it would come in handy.

As soon as I put it in the box I thought - shit! It was the top box that was YES wasn't it? OCD, I've mentioned it before...
jailender
Guy I work with was at a polling station in inverness, and an old bloke came in, got his voting slip, and promptly put it straight into the ballot box ! He then realised what he had done and asked if he could get another slip. Answer was of course no. What a muppet.
Glasgowmancity
My wife has voted, but I've not yet - she says there was no-one else there when she voted at 8:15 this morning. That is in Glasgow East. On my way to work, I passed 3 polling stations, no queue at any, and one No & one Yes standing outside each place. Orraloon
First vote in my polling station... That's whit you think. There was probably 50 ballot papers in the box before the polling station opened.

AlfieMoon
Stood at the entrance of one of the polling stations at West End / Maryhill from 7-8am. Plenty of yessers, smiles, badges and the like.
Larky Masher
Lost polling card but voted however simply giving your name and address doesn't seem like much of a security check.

Who's name did you use? You might be able to vote again? I think there have been discussions about ID requirement for voting but they thought that on balance it might put people off voting. They want to encourage more participation.
ShedTA
Lost polling card but voted however simply giving your name and address doesn't seem like much of a security check. ah but they must have found your polling number and scored it off. so anyone else giving your name and address woudl not get a voting card. so the voting reg cards are just a record of your name and adress. once its scored off the vote is done. you could theoretically vote for someone else though. Orraloon
Dead men can, and sometimes do, vote. It's hardly worth taking the risk though as electoral fraud is a serious offense.

Orraloon
But somebody could have got in before me and voted in my name, just didn't seem very robust. That's why it's best to vote early. Folk do turn up at polling stations to vote only to be told that they can't as "they" have already voted. It has never happened on a very big scale........yet. It's going to be harder to do this time round as we are expecting a big turnout.
johnnie x
Its no change to the usual but i agree its not at all secure. If you know somebody's name and address it would be easy to go and vote for them.
