In general do people generally appreciate or post particular covers because you like the band, doing something 'a litte different' or you like the song, heard in a new light? Of course it's not either-or. But in general... If we see a posting of Duran Duran covering Judas Priest, or Judas Priest covering Duran Duran, could we guess which artist the poster was more into? I'm still following a general rule of only posting stuff I like for any of the categories. The Morrissey cover one I posted was cause I generally quite like his stuff but that cover of, It's Over, just sounds like rubbish karaoke. If you're precious about an old favourite, you'll probably dismiss its covers and not be interested in posting them here. I had to do a quick survey to see why I'd posted. Mostly I like the cover more, but with several exceptions. A few were for stylistic contrast (if you knew the original)... 'surprise' if you like.
