Something in the record about police holding up fixture list.

They literally rule the roost over scottish football.

From telling us when we can have games to telling clubs they can't have standing sections.

Is it illegal to arrange something without their permission? If no law against it they should be told to GTF.

They're useless when at the football to make matters worse.

What could the police possibly have a problem with?

It's been said on here before many times but someone needs to remind these arses that they are there to uphold the law - not make it

TV companies seem to be another reason for the delay, and disagreements about uneven home/away splits (according to the radio earlier).

Fixtures expected today though...

Thought the rules/guidelines for working out the post split fixtures were pretty much set in stone?

I.e. if every team can get 19 home and away they go for that even if there are some uneven home and away splits between clubs.

Would also appear to be an unwritten rule that the top 2 must get 2 home and 2 away against each other.

Have seen a suggestion that Celtic will get a 3rd game in Inverness with Aberdeen going to either Dens or McDairmid for a 3rd time.

It's a disgrace that the fixtures are still not released yet and it's very clear that the SPFL, Sky, BT and Police don't give a rats arse about the clubs, who have tickets and hospitality to sell, and especially the fans who want to plan ahead to the forthcoming fixtures. They've had weeks to prepare for each scenario on who goes into the top & bottom six, not on that we're still waiting three days after the pre-split positions was confirmed.

EDIT: AberdeenAngus, the way I've worked it out is that we're going to St Johnstone for a third time and Inverness have a third home match against United & Celtic (they've played 4 of the 5 teams twice at home but need three home matches to make it a 50% split of home and away matches).

The SPFL are the clubs.

The clubs hold it all in their own hands to change things.

I really hope any new tv deal kicks stupid o'clock kick offs into touch. Given the paltry (in relation to elsewhere) amounts that tv for for our football they should not be calling any shots.

Aye seen that too. Surely they can't have two teams battling relegation finishing their season on different days?

You'd think they'd have to move them all? Probably creaming themselves over the idea that not everything is decided and they can do Motherwell v Thistle on BT1 and Kille v County on BT2 etc. PLAYOFF DECIDER ON A FRIDAY NIGHT....OOOOOH

Hopefully someone in the press clarifies what the plan is here.

To make it up as they go along.
