At U Peter
Yeah we often score 3 away from home.... And we don't often score 6 at home but we did yesterday ya melt.
Green_Tide_Rising
I'll just leave this here "Make no mistake about it, if there’s a chance there to go through someone, I’m going to take it." James McLean Not sure what your point in posting that is.....Mclean blatantly gets the ball. He went in with a hard but fair tackle. Its got Nothing to do with the Polish players rolling around like they had been shot and feigning injury Edited March 30, 2015 by Green_Tide_Rising
ParisInAKilt
That was a reckless tackle, doesn't matter if he played the ball.
davew
Point I'm making is, you can't complain about their players going down a bit too easy when your own players are going in a bit too hard
Green_Tide_Rising
That was a reckless tackle, doesn't matter if he played the ball. Definitely a hard tackle.....but his studs werent showing and his kept his challenging foot low. If studs were showing and his foot was high then maybe reckless. Our player went in hard and got the ball. That was ONE tackle. The polish were at their diving bullsh*te and feigning injury for large periods of the second half

He was on the end of a very hard tackle by an irish player who got the ball first Im talking about the numerous times they feigned injury and dived which was very apparent to anyone who was watching the second half.....im not sure if you saw the second half.....but if you didnt then maybe you should watch it

A dangerous tackle is a dangerous tackle. That should have been a yellow card.

Here's what the rules say. A direct free kick is awarded to the opposing team if a player commits any of the following seven offences in a manner considered by the referee to be careless, reckless or using excessive force: • kicks or attempts to kick an opponent • trips or attempts to trip an opponent • jumps at an opponent • charges an opponent • strikes or attempts to strike an opponent • pushes an opponent • tackles an opponent “Reckless” means that the player has acted with complete disregard to the danger to, or consequences for, his opponent. • A player who plays in a reckless manner must be cautioned “Using excessive force” means that the player has far exceeded the necessary use of force and is in danger of injuring his opponent. • A player who uses excessive force must be sent off Edited March 30, 2015 by davew

I wouldnt/nor ever would base my point on a football pundit who may not be educated enough to know the difference between a good and a dangerous tackle. I'll base it on my view and the fact that Mclean went in, got the ball, but got it with his challenging foot kept low and his studs not showing

Getting the ball is totally irrelevant as to whether a referee sees it as a reckless tackle or not. I didn't see any of your game. Did Poland get a free kick for that tackle? Not only that after he gets the ball he doesnt follow through with his studs and he keeps his feet and studs firmly near the ground. Yes Milik went down, but that was due to the pure momentum which Mclean went into the tackle. There was no booking and rightly so. It was a strong but fair tackle IMO Edited March 30, 2015 by Green_Tide_Rising

Its got Nothing to do with the Polish players rolling around like they had been shot and feigning injury It looks like he could've snapped his leg in half at the knee. Looks like reckless and excessive force to me which brings us back to our topical debate over here, i.e. it's a red card if a Dundee Utd player does it at Celtic Park (and he got the ball as well) but not necessarily even a free kick if Scott Brown does it. But you were probably watching it in times "x30" Any damage that may have been done to Milik's knee would have been due to Milik stretching for the ball with his left leg.....which put his knee in that position ( you can see that in the link) Cant comment on the Scott Brown analogy as I dont watch nor support celtic Did they get a free kick? No they didnt as far as i remember and rightly so

jock strap
Im very happy with the current situation. A win in Dublin and we have a great chance to qualify. A draw would be an excellent result in Dublin, but I think we can beat them over there if we play to our quality.

A draw would be an excellent result in Dublin, but I think we can beat them over there if we play to our quality. I would agree with this. A very valid point was made by Neil McCann on Sky last night which I definitely agree with. At the moment Strachan has us playing to a specific brand of football and we are in a groove and have been for some time so everyone knows what they are doing and its a system that is getting us results. O'Neill, I don't think, is there yet. Listen to their fans and they reckon there is too much long ball stuff and not enough football played on the deck. Ireland got the ball on the deck in the second half V Poland but not in the first so they are still, evidently, not in any sort of groove that we are. That has to be an advantage to us. I would be gutted (no offence to Ireland fans that post here) if we don't get at least a draw in Dublin - a defeat for us would certainly be Gordon's worst defeat (group conitations-wise) since he took over the job. We are more than good enough to get a draw when we play to our capabilities. WGS looks to have I stalled a club team mentality where the players have 'gelled' together and willing to battle for each other. Levein had none of that. With a large noisy Scotland support in Dublin assisting, the players should up the ante for the occasion. ALBA GU BRATH
