Caledonian Craig
Incredible watching this effort from Murray operating with a metal hip - even if he ends up losing.

Aye, as Jim Courier said after one rally "A surgeon somewhere is watching this and smiling."
Caledonian Craig
Berrettini breaks and will serve for the match.
Caledonian Craig
And Berrettini serves it out to win in four sets. Great fight from Murray but think he will kick himself for chucking away that break. Still a lot to be positive about.
Hertsscot
Great effort from Murray. I wonder how much longer we'll have the privilege of watching him. Given his injury problems it's a minor miracle that he gets out on court.

vanderark14
Kyrgios beats Medvedev 3-1. It's hard to pick a winner in the men's draw this year. Nadal might be the obvious favourite but will his fitness hold? Big chance for Norrie or Kyrgios to pick up their first slam

Very entertaining match Great win for Murray. Saved a match point, and squandering a 2 set lead, to beat the 13th seed. His first grand slam win against a top 20 seed for 6 years. glasgow jock
Well played and great determination by Andy - he'll need a good recovery before his next game (Thursday I assume??)

No I think it is scheduled for Wednesday but that may change due to the tournament falling a little behind schedule due to todays heat and rain interruptions. These sorts of wins are memorable for the drama, the guts, the determination, the excitement and the entertainment. It is what I think Andy carries on for. I do feel defeat in the next round is more likely than not due to the physical condition he will be in but at least it is a win that shows he still has it. Great stuff against a top notch opponent. Caledonian Craig
Andy Murray will start his 2nd Round match in the Australian Open in an hour or so. He takes on Australian Thanasis Kokkanakis for a place in the third round. A lot depends on how Andy has recovered from his marathon match the other day. Fairbairn
I know it's unlikely that Murray can go deep in this tournament however his side of the draw has opened up unbelievably with Nadal, Rudd, Fritz and Zverev all going out early. Batista Agut, who he'd face next if he wins today, looked like he might be struggling too but just won in 5 sets.

Nadal was in the other half of the draw to Murray but lets just take one match at a time. More interestingly Djokovic is really toiling against French qualifier Couacad who has levelled it up at one set all. With approaching two hours on the clock and Djokovic with movement questionable with a heavily strapped left thigh he will not want a marathon match and that is what he has now. Caledonian Craig
Powerful hitting by the Aussie threatening a second break but Murray manages to hold with a let cord but still trails 4-3. Caledonian Craig
Djokovic wins in four sets in 3 hours 4 minutes but that injury is not going to get better with long matches. Murray serving to stay in the first set trailing 5-3.
Caledonian Craig
Kokkinakis takes the first set 6-4. Murray needs to pressure the big Aussie more and needs Kokkinakis to drop his level. Going to be a massive ask to ask Murray to come back from this considering the length of his match the other day.

Caledonian Craig
Kokkinakis takes the second set tie-break 7-4 to lead 6-4 7-6. The Aussie potent serve guides him through the crucial tiebreaker. Credit to him as he has played one of the matches of his life. Murray has not played bad at all to be fair to him.
