  2. Scott McTominay played in a more advanced role against Newcastle than I've ever seen him play. He played in a false 9 role. The numbers don't back this up, but it was one his best performance of the season. He occupied Burn in a way that few have. He won 6 out of 9 headers. He created a great chance for Garnacho and he helped out defensively. It was a nuanced performance which will inevitably lead to United fans saying that he was "invisible" (even though he had more touches than Mainoo and Garnacho) Which just goes to show how ignorant and unable to think for themselves some United fans are. If Scott McTominay was English he would be labelled "The English Michael Ballack". But he's Scottish, so he's a crap player who "hides from the ball". The "Hides from the ball" is the stupidest and laziest piece of armchair analysis that I've ever heard. The false 9 role is probably McTominay's most comfortable role. It might be where he starts in the FA Cup final. Up top with either Bruno or Højlund. That's where I'd play him in the Euro's, with McGinn and Christie/Forrest/Adams flanking him in a narrow three.
  3. Just more rambling pish I see. We will do well to get to three points nevermind winning the fucking tournament and you think Clarke will be telling them we are gonna go all the way boys and win this thing. The players will all be laughing at him thinking he is delusional. Get real man, he will be playing it all down everything, taking it one game at a time and see where it takes us. Lastly, that Greece 2004 squad was very talented, a lot of them playing at a high level. Finished above both Spain and Ukraine in their qualifying group. At the tournament they qualified in a group with Portugal, Spain and Russia. Beat France, a quality Czech Republic in the KO's and home favourites Portugal in the final. No way this team is getting anywhere close to that and no way we have a better squad.

  5. Who knows DS but I’ve have had enough of the smoke and mirrors routine from our board of directors. The huns actually have a higher wage bill than us and while you could argue that they are being mismanaged they seem willing to risk another insolvency event just to put a winning team out on the pitch. Our board by contrast are risk averse to the point of as you say ‘just doing enough.’ The answer to your question probably lies in just how much power Rodgers now actually wields. The board didn’t want him back but Dermot insisted on him. You could be forgiven for thinking they have actively worked against him with the pathetic recruitment over two windows and the unnecessary division sewn between the supporters earlier in the season. Against the backdrop of a title win despite their negligence that won’t fly any more. Like I say though who knows. There are a lot of big egos at play. It wouldn’t surprise me if they carry on with the scattergun recruitment and built a feckin hotel or museum or some other shite with the money. I guess we’ll find out in the summer.
  6. This saturday the televised game is Celtic v St Mirren for the lifting of the trophy, and rightly so. You'd expect that of any league. On Sunday- not a single scottish game is being televised despite ross County and St Johnstone still fighting it out for the relegation playoff. Doncaster is a cunt. Just watch him follow England's lead if the EPL sacks VAR.
  7. Rangers fans can educate me here but when it comes to King, does he need a run of games? The reason I ask is faith is kept with the Rangers centre halves and defensive midfielders despite them being shite IMO, Lundstrum being a prime example of this, from the little I have seen he is a liability as is Gouldson. Is King genuinely that much worse? I cant imagine there is much motivation for a player like King when faith is kept with shite like the above. Before anyone (not you @Hertsscot ) gets their knickers in a twist, read the first line so I don't get bombarded with the usual "another opportunity to bash rangers". Its a genuine query
  8. Can't say that's a description of the TA I recognise at all, the game in London in the last Euros, I've never seen anything like it, I've been about a bit but I can honestly say I've never seen so much coke in my life. The English fans were vile, they kept away from us because they were too busy fighting with eachother. Now I'll openly admit to having a bit of an issue with certain types of England fans having been stabbed by one in 1999 but they really are something else. You just don't see that kind of shite, that kind of attitiude from the TA.
  9. I think defensive midfield is looking like his best position or maybe as part of a back three. I do think he is very talented and could be an excellent player.
  10. Not that I remember , will have a listen back on his bit incase I missed anything other than how far back do we go to establish if we are a country or not and have the right to independence.
  11. Can you see the board authorising 4 or 5 signings at 7 odd million each? Thats probably whats needed to turn this average Celtic side into a decent Celtic side who might do ok in the Champions league and go on a run in the Europa. And thats without selling anybody. Looks like O'Reilly will be off in the summer so that adds on another that would need replaced. Theres probably only 6 players at Celtic that are of a good standard. CCV, Johnstone, McGregor, Hatate, Meida and Kyogo. Imo theres then a huge drop off in standard for the rest of the squad. Celtic have been a tad fortunate in recent years that Rangers are a shambles when they could have set themselves up as a dominant force. (Sounds silly given the trophys they have won) but they should really be head and shoulders above whereas they seem to settle for just being slightly better.
  12. Dons top is a cracker. A white away with thin red pin stripes and the old goalpost badge would sell well I think.
  13. The non OF clubs benefit more financially by selling to lower half clubs in good leagues and then having a sell on. Take Hickey and Ferguson. If either had gone to the OF and done well there is no chance the OF are selling them on as quickly and for as much money. Rarely do clubs in England spend 20 million plus for a player from Scotland. Is Tierney the only one? The difference with clubs like Bolonga is that they are happy to bring a player in for 3 million and sell for 15 a year or 2 later. The OF dont like to sell their best players unless a huge big comes in.
  14. We are booked in to do this in Munich....looks like fun. 🏎️ https://www.hotrod-fun.com/en/munich-2/?rwstep=product
  15. Munich two possible: Hbf and Ostbahnhof Cologne also two: Hbf and Messe/Deutz really look into details when you book coming from Munich to Cologne will sometimes let you arrive at Deutz with those trains not continuing to Cologne Hbf but going to towards Dusseldorf. So that means you will have to get off at Deutz 😎
  16. nice to be in agreement on something ; lots of things = i just finished the photographer episode today actually - thought that was well done - the lives of footballers wives & families tho does bore the arse of me .....
  17. I think Clarke probably already knows his squad. Up until about a month ago he would have thought he was picking 23 players. With Ferguson definitely being out that is down to 22 and with Hickey more than likely being out, 21. That means he has to pick at least another 5 players who he didn’t think were going to make his original squad. I suspect he probably doesn’t want to pick another 2 who would have pretty much no chance of going to Germany just for the sake of it and will be happy to pick 26 players who know they will be going to the finals when joining up for the warm up games.
  18. I hope he does, getting a taste of tournament football is a good experience for any of our youngsters to inspire them do their part to get to another. Chance of a lifetime to sing our anthem in front of packed stadiums, with the world watching on TV and playing your best for all of us who would give a testie to be where they are.
  19. Yeah. Gareth Southgate was opposed to the expansion of squad sizes from 23 to 26. There's a good chance he'll pick 23. I don't think Steve Clarke was against the expansion. I think he'll pick 26.
  20. Yesterday
  21. That’s easily fixed by limiting everyone to first squads of say 20 players over 21 years old. As many youngsters as they like. Minimum six Scots in starting line-ups; nine altogether.
  22. That seems to be the latest craze for folk with bottomless pockets.
  23. That’s a great title win and all credit goes to the manager. The board can get tae fuck, they have gotten away with murder for the last 3 years. It’ll be interesting to see if Rodgers has forced a change of thinking in the summer. Lovely way to wrap it up smashing that mob in their ain midden! Not that I have anything in particular against them but they have given us a lot of bother this season.
  24. Motherwell are Tottenham in disguise !! 😂😂😂
