liviloyal
Going by previous friendlies before Euro Championships, I'd imagine we have either 1 or 2 games the final week/ weekend of March, then a single friendly the last weekend of May. Suppose we'll be waiting until after the draw on the 12th December to see who wants to pay decent money to play us.....
wanderer
Given our reluctance to play this week, you would really hope that the SFA will use both available dates in March, and would try maximize the amount of available games pre-Euro's, as its unclear if we will play pre-Malta or not. Looks like Wales, NI and RoI will all be in pot 4 for the Euro draw next month, so good chance a number of nations will see us as a ideal opponent for a friendly match (hopefully we can get someone who benefits us like Czech Rep, Hungary, Romania or Ukraine ie someone of a similar standard/level of Slovakia,Slovenia and Lithuania etc....rather than going for money playing Portugal, Netherlands or France etc)
Mazziessc
rather than going for money playing Portugal, Netherlands or France etc) That used to be the SFA way to go for money, now we are more likely to get a friendly v someone who didnt even qualify or even non european, Quwait and Nigeria spring to mind. The teams of our level will be looking to step up the quality of opposition as part of their preperations rather than a step sideward with us. I can see loads of big friendlys pre euro's while we run out in a kickabout v canada or the likes. I have no problem if there is a offer on the table for another Nigeria in London type game where the SFA can make some good money, but has be be evened out by arranging something that will benefit us on the field.... but I still half expect our friendlies between now and September to be along the lines of NI, Canada and Finland....... That would've been my guess due to Strachan's contempt for friendlies. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if it was only one in May/June. Including these November dates we're missing, a lot of teams will play a minimum of 6 games in the time we only play 3.

How good are Malta ? Do you think he will want an away game with similar opposition/ climate. Another potential tiblisi, don't win there and it would be a huge mountain to climb. tartanpar
Malta will be tough. It will be no Gibraltar that's for sure. Just have a look at their results in the last campaign and you will see. We need to win, we should win but anyone who thinks we will hammer them will be disappointed...Unfortunately. bossman4
I'm hearing from over here in NI that it will be Northern Ireland at Windsor park, end of May, possibly the bank holiday weekend to officially open the new Windsor Park. Dependent on it being finished I think, but it should be. Also think it will be based on us recieving about 3-4k in tickets for it.
