Grantyboy1983
Never had any problems going through security with mine but obviously remove it from kilt.
Dave78
Aye, take it off and stick it in the tray. I've never had a problem, and mine even looks like a wee sword!
SheepieTartanArmy
Aye as long as you take it off when going through security. Only once have I been requested to keep it in my baggage
ScottyAlba
Pop it in your sporran. Flew up for the Qatar game with no issues with mine
scottincarlisle
Turn your kilt 90 degrees. Doesnt set the scanner off. Some airports are telling you to do it now. Agree though put it in sporran. Only hassle I've ever had was flying home from Dublin. The guy got a ruler & measured it.

stewarty66
Check out the you.gov website on hand luggage. I was surprised at what you can take on. Kilt pins should be no problem.
Goozay
Turn your kilt 90 degrees. Doesnt set the scanner off. Some airports are telling you to do it now. Agree though put it in sporran. Save yourself even more hassle and turn your body 90 degrees - shuffle through the scanner sidyways. Particularly handy for those of us whose kilts have got tighter in recent years. Bristolhibby
Going through Dublin my bag (which contained my kilt) was reportedly scanned and opened up. Apparently my kilt pin looked like a bullet in the scanners. Oops. J
Jagtag
Took my kilt pin off this morning at Dublin Airport and now can't find it. Think I must have dropped it out my sporran when I took it off.
McTeeko
Dublin airport this morning. Took my belt and sporran off as normal - "BEEP" Took my badges off my kilt (where kilt pin should sit) - "BEEP" Turned my kilt 90 degrees - "BEEP" Asked to take my watch off as the guy said "If you beep again we'll need to do an intimate search" ?? NO BEEP!! ? Edited June 14, 2015 by McTeeko
scottincarlisle
No real hassle this afternoon. 2 pins on kilt, turned 90 degrees, bleeped, just a quick frisk. Boots off this time.
