Parklife Posted May 14, 2015 Share Posted May 14, 2015 I didn't hear Doncaster last night but this morning on the sports news they were reporting that he said there were too many fixtures. Was that from the interview with English? A few years ago when he was asked about changing to a top league of 16 he claimed they couldn't because there would be too few fixtures. Why the change of opinion? The cynic in me wonders whether the SPFL are now pondering a top 16 for some reason. It was a theme he constantly repeated. I was disappointed with the response from English in regards to that. It'd have been easy to highlight how we have many midweeks early in the season which are not used. I think if he'd come up with a £10 million 3 year deal as an example we could forgive the 2 years with no sponsor. I understand he perhaps didn't want to devalue the product by accepting a derisory offer. However, his PR has been awful! He's actually talked DOWN the product he's meant to be selling, and 3 years down the line we've got 1 deal for 4 divisions worth much the same as we were getting for 1.
