Ormond
I hate to say this, but I've only seen bigotry from one side in any discussions regarding this, and surprisingly it's not from the Orange side.Don't make me laugh!
phart
Does the same go for marathon's, bike races etc etc or just Orange parades? Well i crossed Glasgow marathon on my way to work no bother, waited till a space in the road and crossed without anyone reacting like i'd wiped my arse on the royal standard or something, and coming at you incredibly team-handed and assuming your religion and not liking it. sbcmfc
Marathons don't run to the tune of the celebration of killing thousands of Catholics. You don't know what the runners are listening to on their I-Prod. (Seeing as it's a thread of puns...)

Glasgowmancity
Don't make me laugh! I've honestly not seen any bigotry from the Orange side regarding this event. I've seen plenty from people opposed to it on FB & even on this thread. Well i crossed Glasgow marathon on my way to work no bother, waited till a space in the road and crossed without anyone reacting like i'd wiped my arse on the royal standard or something, and coming at you incredibly team-handed and assuming your religion and not liking it. I tried to cross during the Commonwealth games & had to wait a while as I've also had to do on the days of Orange walks - I must just have been unlucky with timing though as I generally avoid the town if there are any big events/parades or demos on. Ormond
Well it was war it wan't an indiscriminate slaughter.I agree with you there. But the primary reason for marching is to commemorate that. While Scotland suffers from unbelievable, unacceptable sectarianism. Don't you think things like these marches continue to breed this pish? While Scotland suffers from unbelievable, unacceptable sectarianism. Don't you think things like these marches continue to breed this pish? The primary reason, I believe, is related the retention of a protestant monarch on the British throne and the Battle of the Boyne is celebrated because it contributed to that. Do I think this event should be held in the centre of Glasgow no though I'd also disagree with the trying to get it stopped with the use of sensationalist and deliberating misleading pish like "How is this event celebrating the killing of thousands of Catholics?". I'd estimate that two thirds of your average Orange marching band march primarily for this reason. It's not about being pro-monarchy first for them. It's about getting one over all the Tims. Sad, sad bastards.
John_B81
If the Orange Order want an event, they can hold one but at an enclosed arena/private venue where it's invitation only. Allowing them to hold it in George Square is utter madness.

You estimate away, though your opinion seem to moving from it's about killing Catholics to getting one over on them and there a significant difference between those two positions.
