Maq
Ok. Is Caroline Lucas going to be invited on? The Greens have just as many MPs as UKIP Will Sturgeon? SNP have 6 times the number of MPs, and are, by membership, the 3rd biggest party in the UK Jeez, even George Galloway has as many MPs as UKIP
johnnie x
'Prime Ministerial' debates in which two of the candidates have roughly the same chance as becoming prime minister as I do.
Toepoke
Agreed all parties should be involved or they shouldn't be screened in Scotland at prime time. Even worse in Northern Ireland they can't vote for any of them!
northernscum
It's just following the ridiculous love in the broadcasters in the UK (mainly England) have with UKIP. To blatantly disregard every other party in the running for multiple seats at the GE is a disgrace, albeit not unsurprising. Hopefully the SNP and Greens will post record results next year to make a mockery of this decision.
ibelieve!!!
Turns out this is just the broadcasters proposal, nothing confirmed. The Greens talking about taking legal action if UKIP are involved and they get left out.
Armchair Bob
I'd be peeved if I was green and getting zero exposure. Think how much more support they would have if they had been given as much a platform to air their policies by the BBC as UKIP have.

giblet
Tearing Adam Boulton a new one saying Sky better be careful or they will become discredited as much as the BBC. Its a facebook video link, dont know how to cut it across.
Fred_Zeppelin
No matter where you are in the UK you're only 6 hours away from seeing Nigel Farage on the BBC.

Hertsscot
Have they even bothered to give any rationale why farage would be invited when others with more MPs and more members would be excluded? neilser
On a bit of a tangent here but Eton Dave, who wouldn't debate with Salmond, doesn't appear on Question Time and only meets business leaders and other Tories when he's in Scotland is on ITV's 'The Agenda' just now with Asmah Mir, Rory Bremner and Deborah Meadon. Tom Bradby takes on the Dimbleby type role - it's not on STV but is on Sky channel 973. Just found it very odd, as I've never seen the fecker ever engaging with 'real people'. Toepoke
Don't like the idea of these debates anyway, we're electing a party not a president. If they have to happen, broadcast them regionally featuring a selection of local candidates, these are the people we will be voting for after all... Armchair Bob
The ideal scenario would be to broadcast them as made, but in Scotland, Alex Salmond does the studio voiceover, ripping the pish at every opportunity.

Jie Bie
Have they even bothered to give any rationale why farage would be invited when others with more MPs and more members would be excluded? The other day I heard the BBC justifying the inclusion of UKIP for the following reasons: 1 - They won the largest share of the vote in the most recent national election (2014 EU elections) 2 - They have finished in second place in 5 out of the last six Westminster by-elections, and of course they won the other one. 3 - UKIP have also been doing very well in recent council elections. If the BBC want to include them then fair enough, but they shouldn't broadcast it in Scotland IMO. Instead they should show a Scottish leaders debate at the same time.
