phart
12 minutes ago, exile said: Or, the conspiracy card. Even the simplest thing, like the Moon, whose craters can be seen with your own eyes through your own telescope, are accused of somehow being fake. Yet when we ask for evidence of (say) the circular hinge where the supposed ice platform meets the metallic vault, we are told that the evidence cannot be shown because it is hidden from us by unseen evil treaty forces! So, conveniently, the conspiracy always seems to (a) deny scientists' physical evidence that actually exists, while (b) serve as an excuse for the lack of physical evidence of the supernatural alternative. So this way the conspiracy card can at any point simply be played to win any argument. So, at this point, debate is futile. As Feynman said about UFO's i find it much more likely to be the irrational actions of terrestrials than the rational actions of extra-terrestrials

Sure, though those who continue to play are not necessarily trying to convince the other side, but maybe playing to the gallery or whoever out there might be still listening or open to persuasion. biffer
Guys, Scott has just confirmed that it's not worth engaging with him, as his fundamental get out is "its supernatural". So he in his own mind has no need to engage on normal terms as that's his bottom line - if he cant explain it, it's supernatural. If there's evidence to the contrary, he can fall back on that. My main problem is he doesn't even realise the effect of that. It means he's dissembling and engaging in a dishonest conversation. He's bearing false witness. So, at the peak the Earths shadow was covering the top 2/3 of the moon resulting in a bright orange horizontal crescent. At the moment the shadow is covering approx the top half of the moon leaving a bright orange bottom half. Always with a faint outline of the moons cicumference just visible. Very pretty, my crap description doesn't do it justice, Edited July 16, 2019 by Eisegerwind Whoops ,sorry, South Peninsula!
aaid
Got a good view here. There's a visible crescent but at the bottom of the moon rather than the side.

Suppose you're in a ship positioned just north of the northernmost point on Antarctica. [Where black dot is on the map below] You sail on a straight course due east. Where do you end up? (a) Where you started from. (b) You crash into Antarctica (whose frigid shore is on your right.) (c) You go off at a tangent (and eventually hit another continent, not Antarctica). Some have already offered answers before but this question is reposted, for any genuine Flat Earth believers.
