If he resigns he shouldn't step down immediately. He should say he is staying on as FM until a new SNP leader can be elected, the same as Nicola did. That pretty much nullifies the Tory VONC, although they would probably still want to have it, just to add more humiliation onto to Humza. But the result would be largely irrelevant. Then Labour need to gamble on whether to go ahead with their VONC. Do the Greens and Ash want to bring down the whole SG? Is this really a good time for an election for any of the parties? Not the Tories, that's for sure. -

Well those who voted humza in were warned, now hopefully they see the bin fire sturgeon has left, humza seems a ok lad just hadn’t it in him, never had or will. best case scenario, KF elected, have a WM election first then onto a holyrodd election. Snp remain biggest party but will be a minority. worst case, holyrood election called imminently -

Exactly. Anyone thinking that unionist parties can’t muster deep pockets to see off the SNP here is wishful thinking. They’ve been awaiting this opportunity 17 years. Labour have the momentum and will be the big winners here in a GE. Lots of twists and turns to come like you say though. I do wonder if we could end up in some NI style stalemate where WM have to intervene to run SG business. They’d love that! The reason I say that is that if nobody will back SNP in a minority admin (if they win most seats m) after a GE - it might also be tricky for the unionist parties. While in Scotland I’m sure the Lab/Con/Lib ‘better together’ crew would love a coaltion at Holyrood to see off the SNP, their Westminster bosses won’t allow Labour to go near the Tories. Realistically, Labour prob need enough seats between them, Libs and Greens to form a coalition. Otherwise, I don’t know how the numbers work for anyone but there’s a long way to go before we get to that point. -

Needs must. Anything that lot oppose i'm all for. -
I'd agree if they had a pick up at the ground , but to not have that , have a very early ko or send tickets out causes other problems

Ideal scenario, actually get the party back to what it is meant to do instead of virtue signalling politics which more often than not turn into an absolute shambles anytime they bring in any legislation. -
I think if they are ever going to appear serious about stamping out harvesting then this is the type of game they will need to be seen to be making 100% pick up.

I don't know about their finances but I would imagine Labour would be desperate for an election as the only major party that will gain seats (and maybe the FM itself). The Tories would lose a lot of seats and would be the smallest of the three main parties by far so can't imagine they would want an election although not sure how they spin supporting a minority SNP Government. The only thing for sure is that there are a lot of twists and turns to come this week. - Today

I flew out to Riga for a few days last week, a lot's happened on a mini-break! Whatever Scotland has suffered as being part of the Union cannot be compared to the horrors that the Latvians experienced last century. I was very moved going round the Museum of the Occupation which recorded their suffering under the Nazis and the Soviets. Whatever happens this week, my takeaway is that independence comes when enough people want it and are prepared to act on it. -

Strange if Yousaf himself turns out to be the one that pulled the plug on the Greens agreement and then pulled the plug on himself. Not brought down by the unionist opposition (never mind the electorate), but just the threats of the opposition. Hard to imagine either of his predecessors doing that. -

Did you see the terms? Alba - a party with microscopic share of the Scottish electorate was asking SNP to stand down their candidates in seats Alba were contesting. Why would you even bother? It is signing away seats that the SNP fought long and hard to win over the years so that an Alba candidate can stand in their place and win inconsequential amount of votes? Why? -
Steve Clark should have been there. Morgan and Gauld both starting

Unless of course she is elected leader of the SNP and enough Labour/Tory MSPs support her as FM because of; (a) Protocol (b) Neither wanting an early Holyrood election due to finances (c) Certainly don't want to be portrayed as causing an early Holyrood election - Yesterday

What a binfire the SNP at Holyrood is Rather resign than do a deal with another Independence party Almost certain now that at least one SNP MSP will vote to bring down the Government rather than have Shona Robison lead it Holyrood election it is - with all of the parties skint -
