biffer
An astonishing turnout and we need to be proud of it and shout about that. There is much work to be done. and all of us should be part of it. I'm trying desperately to be positive, but it's so hard.
Toepoke
Well said. No matter the feelings about the result it was a great day for democracy.

the_fadiator
45% for independence is still progress? A lot of people have woken up and cannot be put back in a box. Maybe it'll take another generation of voters added to this one remembering broken promises, the lies of devo max. And many of the over 60s who worried will be gone. We'll get it next time & within 20 years.
EddardStark
Fantastic turnout as predicted by me. However the missing 15% can only be categorised as a NO.By not voting they supported the Union.

Armchair Bob
Still suspiciously high. Just saying... Only suspicious because the 'no' areas returned far higher turnouts than the 'yes' areas. We will soon have our version of the vigil for a Scottish Parliament that set up shop in 1992 opposite St Andrews House.

Armchair Bob
Henry Ford once said "if I asked people what they wanted, they would have said a faster horse." We were offered a car yesterday. We chose a faster horse. We will end up with a donkey.
