ShedTA
Amazing to see turnout figures for postal votes over 90%... 93%, 96%... ...I never knew the postal service was so capable! Not good though. They might have helped swing it.
ShedTA
Yougov chief saying the high turnout is good for NO, he said NO seemed more determined to get out to vote. This is the opposite of what i was expecting and seeing ? Yep everyone saying high turnout good for yes.
Auld_Reekie
If No hadnt had their arses kicked a few weeks ago, I think a higher turnout would have helped Yes. But I think the No demographic understand the importance of their vote better than the Yes vote. On a knock up this morning in a social deprived area of Edinburgh, intention to vote was high but it's believable they might just not bother. jumbocummings
Not surprised by the high turnouts at all. As expected I think. That famous YouGuv poll with a Yes lead may have helped actÃvate the No vote as well unfortunately.
Big Dod
The BBC results web page has just come up with turnout of 87.09%. For the country presumably.

saintlyscot
Still a bit suspicious about the turnout. Spent time at few different stations today in dreich weather and polling was steady imo. Better than Scot government elections but not to this degree. Also bt were very well organised today. Took me by surprise.
Big Dod
 Think that's for Dundee. Lower than expected  Maybe. No results up yet obviously, no colours on the map, but turnout jumped to 87%. Edit: Just jumped to 87.42% so it's obviously being updated continuously. saintlyscot
78% is what I was expecting. That's why I still have hope if Glasgow is a massive standout.
fringo
Apparently 78% turnout in Dundee, which would normally be good, but compared to the rest of the country and the strong political feelings in Dundee is really, really surprising. exile
So what's going on - the super high turnout is swollen by a silent majority of people who are not seen on the streets or on doorsteps, they don't tweet or like things on facebook, and they don't know TAMBers (or if they do, pretend they are switching to yes), and manage to turn out and vote no? Been warning about this for a while. The canvassing was misleading and the dominance on social media meant significant confirmation bias. exile
75% turnout n Glasgow so, low turnout where yes needed to be high... ...and super-high turnout elsewhere
