I Have To Choose A New Company Car...

Recommended Posts

New Merc C-Class... my missus got one (2.0 petrol) on Monday.

Well-specced, runs well, looks really good - the estate better on the eye than most saloons - and is priced competitively.

Only downside, the stick-on afterthought of a satnav, controls etc - looks like an iPad.

And no, I don't work for Mercedes.

Does it have to be one of these 2 models?

Audi is the new car of choice for wanks

The only other cars on the list are The A4 saloon, Mazda 6 saloon, bmw 3 series saloon and then Vw cc saloon are the others on the list but I need an estate to be honest. Will be 2.0 whatever car I go for. The audi a4 estate would suit me but it's not on the list. The new a4 looks cracking, but not an option. Tempted by the a4 saloon but would be a selfish choice with kiddy requirements etc.

Got the mazda 6 estate. Have to say I'm really pleased with it.

I have the Mazda 6 as my hire car and if the estate was on the list I would be very tempted. Lovely car

I'd go for the Beemer every time.

You should be fine in Sussex (?); however, wouldn't have one where the winters tend to be harsh because of the RWD. I remember after a particularly heavy snowfall the roads of Clarkston and Busby were littered with abandoned BMWs.

Sussex is right and all counties south of Derby is my sale area

I have had BMW's for years ranging from the 320d to the 120d but recently bought the BMW X1 2.0l diesel sport.

Went for a test drive and not ashamed to say that it wowed me. Never fancied an estate and always thought 4x4s were for people who live in the countryside but this vehicle is superb.

Incredibly spacious inside yet doesn't have the bulk of the X3/X5.

I get about 60 to the gallon and it is a superb drive. Loads of boot space and has hidden compartments below the boot itself. Comfort down to the button and the turn of speed in it is superb. ( obviously within the allowed speed limits on streets and motorways ).

Kids love it and to be honest, I wish I bought it earlier.

Easily one of the best, if not the best car Ive had. :ok:

Oh yeah, after 5's tonight my best pal said he'd disown me if I got a bmw.

Never mind a car, I once lost a pal over £20. Sometimes, when i'm bored and sitting alone, i still think about what i could've done with that £20.

You can get a BMW 3 series with four wheel drive now. i have had Audi A4 estates with quattro for many years now as they are pretty much unstoppable and you can buy an older car with confidence because the build quality is superb, but a 3 series X-drive touring appeals to me.

I have this same issue in the summer.

I am going for either the Audi Q5, BMW X3 or Jaguar XF. I want people to be under no illusions that I am a shower.

Don't get an XF - my dad got one in May & has had nothing but hassle with it since. It's been back to Taggarts in Glasgow about 8 or 9 times already. It's also really uncomfortable to drive.

Both rubbish. Get a 911 Turbo. Now they're really quick and great fun to drive! Not hugely practical and MPG isn't great, but that's all auld mannie p1sh, so don't worry about any of that.

If your work won't sign off - get the Beemer, but update your CV.....

I used to have a 3 series BMW as my demonstrator. It was the dugs nuts. I had one for almost 2 years, then I drew a short straw and they gave me a Mini Cooper S. I sulked for a month.

Edit: Sorry for regularly trying to kill you.

Edit Edit: Worth noting that only wånks, Unionists and old folk drive Volvos.

Socialists can't drive BMWs. Fact.

Kirky Lad less of the old folks car :ok: though i am a bit older than you !!!!!!!! love it when the boy racer / sales rep is next to me in his company beemer at the traffic lights, then this old fcukwit goes back to his roots and floors the T5 for a bit of fun.

You can't put a price on seeing the sales rep, he has a face as bright as my tail light. :-))

Fuq me. Who's the boy racer ? Flooring a T5, under these circumstances, my initial thoughts would just be "what a DICK", it's not really a drivers car is it ? I bet your walls are magnolia with beige carpets ? I'm right ain't I ? I bet you also wear cheap suits and awful polyester ties ? Chunky shoes with your suit ? I'm right ain't I ? Flooring a T5.....bucket list  Volvo drivers are so Volvo.
